We've never been able to get a ton of planes to come, but we've always had a great time. We haven't done a fly-in since 2010. We'll open it up to drive-in's too.

Fredericksburg, TX (T82) is a great little town that happens to have a hotel right on the runway! Pull plane up to hotel, balcony overlooks airfield always with some flying action going on, Officers Club for happy hour, Airport Diner for breakfast & dinner, and then the cool Fredericksburg downtown (restaurants, bars, shopping, Pacific War Museum).

Possible dates for me would be...

    Feb. 21-23
    Feb. 28- Mar. 2
    May
    July

Try to arrive Friday for happy hour and diner. Saturday downtown and dinner (driving and flying). Sunday breakfast and depart.

Who would be interested? Below are pics from previous years. I also did fly-in here for Columbia club.

    Time flies! No pun intended.

I'd drive in. February 28 weekend marginally better for me than February 21st weekend. May or July OK too.

Since many of us can't make it to Texas, maybe FChatters around the country could host smaller regional fly-ins?

I come down near there - just down the road - fairly frequently... if I'm in the neighborhood when it happens, I'll drive up in a rental.

I fly in to SAN on a United regional and they won't divert to Gillespie. ha

Been to F-burg several times, I've over-eaten at the Rathskeller (I think that's the name.) a couple times.

    I'm not dead yet!

Gone all WW1 - my second build made the cover of this Feb's 'KITPLANES' mag. May not can get the Camel out there, but can be in San Antonio/Fredricksburg end of Feb!

I might be in, depending upon my travel schedule. I have a few weekend commitments scattered throughout the next few months. If I can make it, I'll throw the whole 'famn damily' in the Baron and leave the Ferrari at home.

I am interested. My wife and I have been making a Hangar Hotel trip between Christmas and New Years with several other flying friends for the past couple of years. Always a fun time...

How does ground transportation work with the FChat flyout? Is everyone responsible for their own car through the motor pool?

No excuse? I'd love to show up to a FChat fly in. But, my little SII burns an average of 1200pph,(around 185gph). KBFL to T82 is around 1100nm, and that is only if you can go direct. That would be around 5.5 hours round trip. With Jet A at an average of 6 bucks per gal, fuel cost alone would be over 6 grand. That would be a very expensive burger!

I'm South Carolina March 8-9th, If early March works best I could squeeze March 1-2 or 15-16. End of February or May OK.

If we decide on a date I will call the hotel for block of rooms. We'll be OK unless another fly-in already scheduled.

We'll rent 2-3 cars from the FBO to share. There is also a taxi service, but sometimes an hour delay if busy. It is just a tad too far to walk downtown.

Within walking distance you have the café, officers club, and really really nice restaurant Cabernet Grill. Fredericksburg Restaurants | Fredericksburg Restaurant

Here is link to the "fly up" hotel.
