    Hi!

I have a problem with my 360 gearbox... It seems that everything works fine but I noticed a bit of difficulty shifting into first and second gear

Geting into 2nd to 3rd works fine, and also to 4th and so on...

The problem became downshifting from 4th to 3rd... there is no way to avoid grinding...

Clutch has been changed (not the flywheel, it was in good condition), gearbox oil changed into AMSOIL severe gear 75w90...

Ordered HE Gear Lever Bushing, but not arrived yet...

Mechanic says that it´s a 3rd gear syncro toasted...

    - Could it be a bad alignement?
    - Could it be solved with a gear lever bushing change?

    Opinions?

Restoring the gearbox with all the syncros will cost over 2500€

Does this happen only when the car's hot or will it do it even after just beginning your drive?

I had a very similar problem but my shifts were fine until the car warmed up.

Sorry to say but it needs syncros.

Very common in 360's that have either not had frequent enough oil changes or used incorrect lubricants.

I had a similar problem with downshifting from 3rd to 2nd it would grind my 2nd gear syncro was toast .

Needed a new syncro which comes in pairs eg 1+2 3+4 5+6

You will need a new 3+4 syncro and depending on how badly its been grinding you may need new selector fork

    :)

Thank you all! Unfortunately it seems I have to spend the money... it happens every time... cold and hot... is it needed to change all the synchros? Mechanic told me it was recommended to change all of them once the gearbox is open... do you think so?
    A Synchro could be repaired?
    Thanks again

Eurospares, Maranello Classic Parts, or Scuderia Systems in the UK. I have had best luck with the last two.

I think you can pick the syncro up for around £250 from eurospares , I would not drive the car very often , I drove my car for about 6 months the noise just got more harsh and didn't feel good at all I would advise to get it done asap
