Any rattles from below? Do you have any buzzing/vibration through the gearbox tunnel as you're driving? You might have a loose pin/screw in the linkage. Also, when was the last time you changed the gearbox/diff/tranny fluid?

Bring it to the dealer. They have a tool to center the linkage and make adjustments(If they can find the damn tool)

I have had to send a 360 to the dealer for this same problem. First it went to Ferrari of Ontario. After the owner spent 3k trying to fix the probelm we sent it to Ferrari of Quebec and they replaced the trans under warrenty. I was never fully informed as to what the problem was (I really think they didn't even know) but it was doing the same as you discribe. I really hope this is not the case with your car but like the others have said it could be a linkage problem, but the grinding bit does not sound good.

As a dealer, we had replaced 3 boxes under wty. and rebuilt one. It is common place to have what you are going through on some of the early 6 speeds, but not all At first, FNA let us rebuild the box, but then they realized the problem lay deeper then that, and sent a bulletin stating to replace the box. Should not be an issue at all under wty. suck that you had to go through this.

    Regards-

ok maybe this sums it up 1st gear a little resistance but not much.

2nd gear some times have to double clutch to get it in does not always want to go into gear so i have to double clutch.

3rd gear slight resistance then a 1/2 second grind and it goes into gear.

4th 5th 6th reverse no problem at all.

I really think its the linkage but could also be the sincro right replace the whole gearbox ?

just wanted to let you guysnow a little more about the problem.

I had linkage problems with my 360 where the shift from 3rd to 2nd was just impossible and would not engage unless the car slowed considerably to almost a rolling stop. They fixed the linkage problem and that was it. In your case I am thinking may be the synchros are bad on the 3rd gear. I guess 360 is one of the few Ferraris with tripple synchros on 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear. Under warranty, no matter what it is Ferrari will fix it. Good luck!

the clutch does not squeek and it grabs good.

now on the other hand ferrari cant look at it until 2 weeks that sucks man because if they have to give me a new gearbox that will most likely take 2 weeks to get here. so i will most likley be out the car for a month or so right?

new news FOLI said that they will replace the gearbox as soon as they here from FNA this was last week. They still have not herd a word from FNA WTF!
cant they just order it what needs to be done? I dont think they have to send out the gearbox because they did not even take the tranny out yet they said no reason to pull the tranny until they hear from FNA. How long does it usauly take to hear from them?
