3X8/Mondial 3.2 Frequency valve

Up for sale is a frequency valve that fits 308QV, 328, Mondial 3.2 (US models). This is the "pulse valve" fitted to Bosch CIS systems with lambda control. Ferrari part# 121513, Bosch part# 0 280 150 300. These were discontinued by Bosch in 12/2007 and no specific alternatives are listed on the Bosch Automotive Traditions website. These are quite hard to come by and at this point can only be sourced from parts cars (note that these were fitted to a few other CIS cars of the era including Porsche). Sometimes they show up on ebay, the only one currently available has an asking price of $350 (Porsche Frequency Valve 0 280 150 300 | eBay).

Not sure how detailed you want but here's a general summary: On CIS cars with lambda control an oxygen sensor is fitted precat which sends information back to the Jetronic ECU regarding AFR. Based on the information from the oxygen sensor the Jetronic ECU alters the duty cycle of the Frequency Valve which bleeds off more or less fuel back to the tank thus altering the fuel pressures in the lower chamber of the fuel distributor. It is the differential fuel pressures between the lower and upper chambers of the fuel distributor along with the height of air flow sensor plate which alters the amount of fuel delivered by the injectors. Of course it much more complicated than that when you factor in open/closed loop operation, cold vs. warm control pressures as a result of the WUR, etc.
