I know this has been discussed over and over and there are several threads about restoring the fiberglass roof & deflector. I started a new one that hopefully is helpful.

Mine wasn't in terrible shape but, the coloring was faded. I decided I was going to figure it out one way or another with paint as the final straw.

The first thing I tried was marine polish. Figuring it was fiberglass, I could polish it like detailers do to their boats. The results were not worth the effort and you can go too far with it.

Back to the drawing board. Using ChatGPT and a few other AI machines, I bought the three top rated products that fit the bill. Low and behold, the first one I tried was like magic - Car Guys Plastic Restorer

    https://www.carguysdetail.com/collections/premium-series/products/plastic-restorer

In my case it was almost too good to be true. I wiped it on and instantly saw a difference. I gave it 2 solid coats and let it sit overnight and buffed it good the next morning.

Give it a go before you try anything else if you've been struggling like I have to get it looking good...and it's only $16 on Amazon.

I have no affiliation with either Car Guys or Amazon.

Thanks for sharing. I felt your pain before - Dull oxidized targa top. Nothing seemed to bring it back to life.

I found a comparison review on YT with Cerakote Ceramic Trim Coat wipes and was impressed so gave them a go. Worked like a champ. 12 months and several washings later, the top still looks new again. I also used it on the side mirrors to bring them back to life. Be careful not to get on the paint. Once that ceramic coating dries, it's not coming off. I taped off anything I didn't want to accidentally get this stuff on.

That was also on my list. The third was a bit of a dark horse called: "Protecticoat Oxidation Remover & Plastic Restorer". I never got to this one though.

Would be interested in hearing about anybody’s experience with either product on US bumpers.

Most of those products look great for a few days and the faded trims turn back to faded after a few washes. It’s fine, as long as you’re ok reapplying every few months or so

the ones that include a ceramic coating (like the Cerakote wipes or the Ammo ones) will last much longer. But you need to be careful when applying, to not wipe the paint. If you do, it will leave high spots of ceramic coating on the paint, which are quite noticeable in the wrong light

I've been trying but I keep getting errors. Says there is a 5mb limit but I think it's closer to 1mb.
