I just purchased my first Ferrari, Mondial T cabriolet, and as expected I'm excited for it to arrive (6 days, but who's counting). Unfortunately, I only have 2 car garage. I have been trying to think of ways to get three cars in and only recently found auto lifts. I searched the forums and came up with a couple names: Bend Pak, superlifts, american products, revolution rotary. I wanted to use it for storage of a car underneath. I would also love to use it for servicing/maintenance. How can you remove the wheels and do brake service with a platform of a 4 post lift? Can anyone give any recommendations from your experience or your research. Much appreciated.

I'll add another brand: Eagle Equipment. I bought one of their 4 post lifts in 1998.

I have used it for both storage and mechanical work.

To use it for brake/suspension work I purchased a small jack and jack stands to allow me to remove any or all of the wheels.

You can also get steel "bridges" to go between the ramps to allow you to use a jack underneath the center parts of the car.

The four post lifts are a compromise; access is better with a lift that raises the frame. I like them because you need not bolt them to the floor, though.

    Good luck

I just bought a Pro Park 7 and the parts are all over my garage. I plan on putting it together over the 4th. The main issue I have is the runways are very heavy, and IMO too heavy for one person to lift, unless your middle name is "Hulk". I would guess the runway with the hydraulic ram weighs about 450 to 500 pounds.

I also did a lot of searching and for the money, it seemed that the Pro Park 7 (by Direct Lift) had the same construction specifications as other 4-post lifts but was significantly less expensive. It was also a bit narrower than others, which fit my 2-car garage better. I contacted another person with the same lift and they said they loved it and had no issues with it.

My next project is to raise the ceiling in my garage as it is only 9 ft high. I cannot find a contractor to come out and give me an estimate, so things must be good in the building industry.

That Panther Lift looks exactly like my Pro Park 7.

Just completed the installation. If anyone want to put these together alone, which I recommend against as one extra person is very helpful, it can be done. Make a dolly to move the runways around, much easier that way. To mount the runways, I lifted one end and placed it on the cross beam. Put one bolt in and finger tighten to hold the runway on the cross member. Then lift the other end and have someone place a saw horse under it. Do this for both runways and then move the remaining posts with the cross member into place. Remove the saw horses and the runways can sit down on the cross member and be bolted in. The rest is easy.

Took me about 5 hours to put it together and about 2 hours of that was building the dolly and thinking how I can put the runways on by myself and one helper with very little arm strength.

Mark, I like your lift. How high is your ceiling in your garage? Thanks for the help.
