Go for the good quality shirt. This is worth it and I will pay it. I'm sure the rest feel the same way too. Do it right, (even if it's black )
Second the comment regarding 'quality'. Happy to pay a fair price, recognizing all the time and effort you are putting into this. Two shirts for sure...
So how many are confirmed to be going to Santa Monica? As for the shirt, I would like to get one, tell me the large print will be on the back of the shirt. Maybe a small logo of the 308 body with the reflection and 3x8 under it, on the left front chest side would look cool. Just a thought.... Well I put almost 3,000 miles on my 308 since I brought it out to CA, 10 months ago. My annual miles I was trying to keep it to was about 1,500 a year. This trip will be pushing my annual miles quota over the top and I will be clipping over 10k on the odometer, so much for restraint from having to much fun. Put me down for one shirt, size Large. Looking forward to meeting everyone. Any San Jose 308's doing the ride down?
Seriously considering it. I'd say I'm 75% in right now. The 308 is a great road trip car as long as you don't have to carry much and it is all heat resistant.
This sounds wonderful... I'm probably at only 50% - and that's better than I can usually do! - because of a couple things. October 4th is my birthday, and as of now, I have tentative plans to do Fleet Week in SF with my family that weekend. If those plans so sideways, however, this could be a definite backup. I don't know that I could subject the wife and son to 5 hours (+) inside the GT4 (especially the little guy in the back seat), each way, so they might follow in a chase vehicle if we did it. Hmmm......
So how many 308'ers have treated their cockpits with dynomat or other materials to create a barrier from the awful heat issue we have in our cars. Last Friday was a real hot one driving home from work at 4:00pm in San Jose, CA. I was soaking wet for the last 10 miles of a 20 mile drive. Taking care of this issue is top on my list after an oil change and redoing the foam underneath the radiator and on it's sides. I read the post about taking care of this issue, but not seeing any responses to how much it improves, by doing all the work. Can anyone comment on the end result. Thanks.
These cars poured hot air on you from the foot well when they were brand new. Either R&T or C&D mentioned this issue in a road test back in the day, I don't remember which now. They described "mysteriously pre-heated air" coming into the cabin. The issue is figuring a way to completely block the hot air blowing off the radiator under and around the spare tire well before it reached the dash area.
The conclusion of threads such as this: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/308-328/438007-308-footwell-temperature-measurements-where-heat-comes.html is that most of the heat comes from the front. The floor, tunnel and rear firewall are lessor contributors than the front. The heat maps show that there is even a lot of heat coming off the top of the dash. If you look at the front or back side of the front bulkhead, you'll see that it is virtually impossible to insulate. Barriers to airflow, to keep the heat off of the front bulkhead in the first place, are probably the best solution. FYI, I have lots of Dynamat in my car. It doesn't help with the heat. It is a noise damper not a thermal insulator.
+1 I'm in for a couple shirts only high quality and willing to pay. Something similar to the new super soft lightweight Tees that you can find at Bloomingdales etc. Might make the event also.
I havent commented yet, but I am interested for sure!! At least one, possibly two, and maybe even 4 depending on a few things. PDG
Maybe like this? And people can add to it? Going to Event: Who, Attendee Count, Ferrari Model MREUS - Craig, 2, 1985 308 QV GTS US T-Shirts: Who, How Many, Size, Additional Comments MREUS - Craig, 3, XL, Black Red or White
Specific to the shirts . . . I've got a spreadsheet going with the names and quantities of those who have posted on this thread and other channels. I'll be reaching out to each of you when the time comes to confirm size, quantity, arrange payment, etc. If you'd like to email me directly to make certain that you are on my master list, please feel free: [email protected] Again, things are not absolutely finalized but it is looking like the shirts will be available in either black or navy. I'm also trying to get a good handle on how the sizes will run so that there will not be any surprises there. Now back to the matter at hand . . . cars at the event! 4ZAJIM - Jim, 1982 308 GTSi, US
