the ferrari 512bbi was the fastest production car in the world :)

i have lots of respect for the Ruf (i know Alois and his wife), but it is not, strictly speaking, a production car .

Yes, I remember when that article came out. Being an owner of a BBI, I wasn't happy with that 176 number. Especially when the carb'ed cars were tested at 188mph (i think in the Guinness book of world records in ?????1978?
Please let me know if my statement is correct.

i think i remember the carbed car achieving 178 in 1978, and that was the fastest car in the world at the time.
