Hi All, How can the stereo (head unit) be removed the dash. I want to get it rebuilt. I also need to replace one of the toggle switches for the hazard lights. Any help appreciated!
Pretty straight forward, but can get tedious and suck you down the rabbit hole. Use the search function. The head unit should come out by sliding a flat blade down the sides to depress the lock tabs.
Well, I’ve replaced the toggle switch. As for the stereo, I’ve got a period correct transmitter radio. The faceplate is much wider than the stereo itself so there is not the usual space to put a flat blade down the sides.
How about posting pics because we have no idea what year your car is, nor which radio is fitted? And what is a “period correct transmitter radio”? Your radio transmits?
