The car is perfect. Restored by the best. Hope it brings what it deserves.

We did the restoration on this car. I poured my heart into making it as correct as was possible. It arrived to us with incorrect Marrelli distributors and coils, and we were able for find the correct Bosch distriburtors, coils and fabricate the missing parts for the distributor drives.

No expense was spared in this restoration and was done as accurately as is possible. We got third place at Pebble Beach, point taken off for paint too shiny (what? this was the Paris show car on the Ferrari stand, don't you think that the paint was as good as they could get it. Point taken off for wrong Boranni stickers on the wheels (the production date of the car straddled the point when Borrani went from one type to another). One more point taken off because the exhaust pipe tips were not exactly even. I don't know if you have ever looked at tips on period photos of new Ferraris, but this was something that was not an exact science back then.

It is a beautiful car that runs magnificently with no problems (did the tour before the show), and is probably the best example in existence. The person that we did the restoration for was so afraid of damaging the car that he has never even driven it. Who ever ends up with it will be a very lucky person indeed, as it functions as well as it looks.

I would like to know this as well. How many other cabrio 400SA's were built? I know there was a blue one in 1960 that had no bumpers and side vents. Others? Pics?

Wow, I don't know how he was able to do that... With such a beautiful, perfect car, how could one NOT drive something like that?

I agree. Some people would rather sit and admire them instead of admire, the sounds, feel, and emotions, cars like these create when driving them... Oh well.. :)

Any serial numbers or pics of them? We rarely get a chance to see beautiful cars like these so maybe a pic thread is in order?? I know there are some great people here on FChat that have incredible historical\present day photos of such rarities...
