I would like to buy a used piston from a 400i engine. Doesn't need to be usable. Any idea where I might find one? Not interested in new as they are over $600 US.

These might be rare and hard to find as I have only heard of one 400i engine that needed the bottom end rebuilt and that was 15 years ago. They just don't wear out that often with the low mileage that they see.

You might check some of the well known Ferrari independent shops that specialize in the older models. Bill Pollard's Sport Auto in Gaylordsville, CT is as likely as any shop to have one. Oh, and Brettski's shop outside of Toronto (Gran Turismo, Ferrari and Maserati - Service and Maintenance ) might have one, he seems to have had a lot of engines that needed work recently.

The piston is the same as a 308 with a little different skirt design.
