Has anyone seen this car. It is a 400i in midnight blue and is MANUAL!!!!!!! It belonged to my dad when I was a kid and I have been looking for it ever since he sold it. I found his older green 400, but I always prefered the dark blue, more modern (well....) one.... Any information would be great....Even if it is just to let me know she is in a good home! Ed
Seem to remember it had cream interior, although my mind may be playing tricks on me.... Anyone? Please!!!!
There was a similar spec (cant remeber the reg) 400i at one of the north west Ferrari meets last year. Have you tried asking the FOC or looking it up in an older (with names and address's) club register
Ed, Try getting in touch with Simon Campbell http://ferrarichat.com/forum/member.php?u=540 He runs a register for the 400. The website may be a little out of date drop him a PM - He might be able to help. Paul
Am posting again just in case there is any more info out there! Chassis no. is: 44623 Midnight Blue (Scurro?) car with Blue carpets. I seem to remember cream or tan seats. The original invoice states 3218 Interior! And that it was £36,169.39p The 39p is just great! Ed
Hi Ed, I'm sorry to say the Ferrari Owners Club UK have no record of this car (implying it has never been owned by a member). Interior code VM3218 is Natural, which I believe is a dark tan. Jonathan
Thanks Jonathan! I have decided that I really want to get my hands on this car again! The 400 isn't everyones cup of tea, (or glass of Grappa!) but this is the car that I grew up with. Any sightings or other info greatly appreciated! Ed
Sorry for rebooting this thread, but I am still looking for this car! Have recently found out that the current owner has had it since 1989 and it is currently off the road. Any further leads anyone???? Cheers Ed
Afraid not Edd but my dad had a blue 400i before the 456 and I thought it was a fantastic car. We did 3,500 miles in just over a week with the owners club around Europe and it was everything a true GT should be, fast comfortable and reliable (apart from the fact one of the fuel pumps gave up the ghost in Germany and we had to do 800 miles home on 6 cylinders - but still cruised at over 110 mph!) They are a hell of a lot of car for the money provided you get a good one. Petrol bills were scary though. Good luck with the hunt.
Ed If you havent already got it, there are a few sneaky ways to get the name and address from the DVLA.......... a friendly solicitor maybe able to help out
Its weird & I could be wrong but there is a light blue 308GT4 parked near my house which I'm sure has that number on it. Will check tonight.
it's not much help but this is the public information that the DVLA hold about it Image Unavailable, Please Login
on my info system it states it was first registered 01/01/1983 and has had 4 previous owners. Suggest you request previous owners information from DVLC and then see if they know who bought it. That's quite easy to do, a lot easier than finding out current owner.
