400i with Chevy Engine Swap for $12500 USD

Good day All,

Just documenting these cars, as they come up... Sadly, no real info, but perhaps someone on here can expand? ... by the rear bumper it looks to be a late 400i?

I wonder what happened to the Engine and unfortunately the ad says that some frame modifications were done... alas...

Ferrari 400i w/ V8 Motor Swap

This 400i is truly unique as it draws together some of the highlights of both the Italian and American automotive industries. While the car maintains its classic Italian style, the power is provided via a General Motors LT1 motor with less than 20,000 miles. This results in a car that has more power than the original V12, while being drastically less expensive to run and maintain.

This type of conversion allows the Ferrari to retain its original transmission and interior components with a motor that was installed with some frame alteration. While the exhaust retains its original exhaust tips for the classic look, the entire exhaust system is just 4 months old and sounds great.

The car also has tires with less than 2000 miles that sit on beautiful original style rims. There are a few issues that need to be sorted out for the car to become a daily driver.

- Probably needs a new battery, as the current battery does not seem to hold its charge
- Fuel gauge is not currently functioning
- A small tear in the leather on the drivers side seat.

This is a project that I have owned for the past few years. I purchased this vehicle from a shop that had nearly restored it, and I have spent many valuable hours on further preparing the car. Sadly, college has become my main priority and I need to let this car go.

Since the Ferrari has been under my care, numerous services have been preformed by industry professionals including:

- A replacement for the right side electric window mechanism
- Drivers side door handle replaced and restored,
- Power control computer replaced and remapped.
- Starter motor and ignition module replaced.
- Cooling hoses replaced
- Entire exhaust system replaced.

This car has a theft recovery salvage title. Please check with your local DMV for registration process allowing multiple reassignments. Also check your State and County laws regarding motor swaps, smog and other regulations.

Gee, a Chevy V8 engine swap that modified the frame AND a theft recovery salvage title!

At least it's a runner, it could be sliced in half and hanging on a wall in Germany.
There IS merit to the Chev swap, especially given the absence of an engine.
If the guy cannot afford a new battery I say it can be bought for the price of a well used Camry, enjoyed for what it is(and isn't)and not lose a dime.
Theft recovery? Who cares, it's all there, sort of.
