Just came back from Autosport racing car show in Birmingham (UK). There was display with Ascari , M6 , Ford GT and Enzo . The guy responsible for them told me that he was told from very , very reliably source that Ferrari SpA built extra 12 Enzos. He didn't know when , but propably '03 or '04.
I don't know what to think about it , guy seems to knew what he was talking about .

You mean 412 without considering the prototypes?
    Well, it could be real...

I'm not following you... There's no doubt that Marcel knows his *****. Does it suggest by the S/N of the linked-Enzo that it was produced after the original 399(400)? I'm just not up on my S/N progression. I would love to know more about these extra 12, if they exist, though!

I'm sure its true, Considering from the F50 thread Carbon told us there was between 20-50 EXTRA F50's made. Therefore those 10ish extra is not a big deal.

I thought that #400 was delivered to the pope who then auctioned it off.

I was in Montreal last year as a guest of Comedy Central for the Just for Laughs comedy festival...quite a town!

Yes #400 was the special Tsunami Fund car. There was also another car made for a Man in Texas whos Enzo burned. And there is also one in the Ferrari Museum. That makes 402. So 10 more doesn't seem to fishy. There could be quite possible 412 Enzo's out there.

I would say the Enzo at the Galleria in Maranello is a prototype as it has some minor differences in the body. I could not see the s/n and also it had the Ass.# plate in a different place, if it has it.

BTW, does anybody know its s/n?

    Regards.

Something that could lend credence to this theory - check out the third pic. The support braces over the engine aren't painted black like all the others. to my knowledge, the only other Enzo noted to have this is the #400.

o shoot youre right. so maybe we keep an eye out for similar characteristics as found in the 400th Enzo maybe? such as CF spoiler and the silver bars and red shock absorbers in the engine?

I think the black one from Germany (A-P 2) isn't a post production car.
A friend of me saw the car some time ago and I think the production of the Enzos wasn't finished when he saw it! But I'll ask him if he can remember when it was exactley.

Why do you think that #plate is in a different place. It seems to be just a standard U.S. bumper. What differences in a body did you notice ?

Here is a pic of that Enzo I took one year ago.

I mean the assembly # plate in the engine bay.

For example, if you look at the air outings on the hood, the inner part was painted black in a not very neat way.

No front side indicators as in prorotype s/n 128014.

    Regards.

    I'm sure it's true.

After the F-50 production run was completed. I remember when an ex-F1 driver (don't remember wich one...) was complaining after the Ferrari factory, considering it was a shame they haven't took the time to contact him to know if he was interested or not by one. They finally apologized to him and built an extra car.

When the F-40 production time was over, Pierre Bardinon asked the factory why they haven't offered to sell one to him. The factory was embarassed and offered to sell him one of the five 288GTO Evoluzione wich was not a bad deal at all. Bardinon sold later the 288Evo to buy an F-50.

I seem to recall that they built Nikki Lauda a 288 GTO after production as he never got his company car from when he drove for them.

It's a standard US bumper on a car with Euro tail lights.

It looks like a prototype put together with what was left on the shelf.

    No side lights.
