412 luggage set wanted
Definitely a 412 set, there is a picture of one in my book about the 412. Would obviously fit the earlier models as well.
I'm on laptop since Sandy knocked out my power but that set doesn't look like I recall and, at the very least is incomplete since the 412 set included a suithanger style case in addition to one (possibly two) smaller rectangular makeup case style cases. I'll look and post when I get power back.
I found this today as I am looking for the Schedoni luggage set for a 400i. This is out of my price range, but thought the OP might still be looking, and its a good reference if it really is out of a 400i. Ferrari 308 400 412 Cocobrown 30 Year Old Vintage Schedoni Luggage Set NOS OEM | eBay
There have been indeed tailored luggage sets produced for the Ferrari 400. See my blog update for a brochure snapshot: Ferrari 400: Ferrari Set di valigeria - sets of suitcases Happy hunting, Erwin
This thread slipped by me but I also remember this eBay item back then, I was really tempted to grab them & wish I had I did make note of the # of pieces & their dimensions: 2 large suitcases: 25" X 16" X 7" thick, double pocket (inside) 2 small suitcases: 15" X 12" X 7" thick, single pocket (inside) 1 garment bag: 34" X 21" (opened), 2 zippered compartments (outside) All with tags, locks, & keys.
A short while back, I was fortuante enough to nab a "never-been-used" set originally from a Mondial--complete with original cardboard packing. I will not disclose the "I actually stole it" price for fear of reprisal. I figured what the heck, sets were likely never made for the 365, but trunk is big enough to fit just about anything. I also recall reading elsewhere that Schedoni did not start making sets until the late 70's--so again it's likely there was no such set for the 365, but it is nice to have confirmation that there was something for the 400. Cool contribution, Erwin. I have mine 4 abreast too, and the large suitcases seem to be the same confirguration/size. Now, if I can only get my hands on those smaller, rectangular, dopp bag looking ones.. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The nice thing about these cars is illustrated perfectly in Erwin's photo above, we can have 12 cylinder Ferrari fun but actually pack the family with luggage for a trip together as well. A true Grand Touring car with, to steal a line from old Jaguars, "Grace, space and pace"! @Ashman, thank for sharing. Out of curiosity, from which book are those pictures taken? Thought I recognized it and checked my library. The book "Ferrarissima nr 3" does have a chapter about the 412 (including 365 + 400) and has the following photo printed: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ah, thanks for reminding me. I have that book as well but the photos that I posted were from the book "Ferrari 412" by Paolo Murani and Stefano Pasini published by Automobilia in 1986.
