Thats the one that had a starting bid of 39,000, out of florida, was on Ebay at least twice. I think you already commented on it DStacey. I noticed later that the owner put the phrase in the ad "Once owned by Whitney Houston", but only after Yngwie's 308 was posted. Its a very beautiful car, blue over cream, low miles (12K? cant remember). I know NOTHING about the car other than what was on the ad. James in Denver
Original Thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=147320 It was relisted 5 times or so, latest list was "canceled due to error", maybe it was sold offline? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200108793668 James in Denver
I remember the ebay listing. While Naples is close, and I would be willing to take a drive over to check it out, I thought $39,000 was pretty high for the car.
I believe her 412 was the inspiration for such classics as "Why Does It Hurt So Bad?", when she got her first major service bill, "Whatchulookinat", when she was cruisin' her 'hood, and "I Will Always Love You", when she finally parted with it. Aidan
Try this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=010&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=200110313472&rd=1,1
As opposed to the first one the owner posted: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferrari-412-FERRARI-412-1988_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6212QQihZ010QQitemZ200102003127QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Notice the DIFFERENT WORDING.... All of a sudden, its "whitney's car". James in Denver
I wasn't suggesting it wasn't her car, just that it was strange that he didn't mention it until it relisted a few times. BTW, Whitney's or not, I think its a freaking beautiful car. I think the other thread fchatters said the price was high, but its a nice car from the looks of it. And it appears to match your 355 pretty closely. As Ferris said "I don't have a car. Don't worry, I have to envy yours." James in Denver
I think its real sharp. I would buy it for 34ish. I did find it funny that he waited so long to play the Whitney card.
I still can't get over the thick trunk on the 412. Otherwise, I'd love a 5-speed 412, but I just can't get over that changed trunkline. Silly Ferrari...
Its back on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FERRARI-412-1988_W0QQitemZ200114142358QQihZ010QQcategoryZ6212QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem It really is a pretty car, Whitney or non-Whitney. James in Denver
Its a remarkably clean car from the pictures, I really like the color combo too. He's asking quite a bit for it, and its been for sale for a while, but its very clean and might be worth it, he'll just have to find the right buyer. James in Denver
