The other day someone told me I had some play in the steering. Are there specific data which should be observed, and if so, how do you measure play in the steering mechanisme?

Toe-in/ out, camber and caster is OK.

Assuming that you have no worn joints in the steering linkage, the play can be adjusted easily at the relevant screw on top of the steering gear. With the steering in straight position, the play on the wheel should be completely eliminated. But don't be confused by the elasticity of the power steering system which allows turning the wheel a few degrees without moving the front wheels (with engine off). If you let the steering wheel free, the elasticity always returns it to the same center position whereas with any play there is no sharp center position.
