This evening my 2005 F430 started doing something strange. After locking the car and a period of 30 seconds or so, I get 5 very rapid high pitched beeps. Its not the lock / unlock single beep. Multiple and louder, more shrill.

Car is in 1 all doors hatches are closed. Alarm and stereo lights are blinking.

    Anyone experienced this before?

Does it still beep when attached to a battery tender?

I don't have it hooked up to a battery tender, aim to drive it at least once per week.

Could it be a sign of a weakening battery?

Sounds like low battery to me. It was happening to my 430 months ago. Not knowing what it was I left it unattended. I ended up changing four new batteries in 2 months. I got sick of it and sent the car in for diagnostics only to find out that there was a faulty door handle sensor that was draining all the power. I had that fixed and it never happened again.

This would be my first new battery experience, what should I expect?

Did you fix this by any chance? I am having the same thing happening, and it can't be low battery. It happens on a fully charged battery, over 13V on tender...
    Thanks for any feedback.

Did you shut her down in neutral? She will beep to tell you not to do that.

No no, nothing to do with that. The beeps occur after you close the door and lock the car; and there are 5 very fast beeps coming from the alarm module, not the dash ... There is a long waiting period of about 25 seconds between locking the car and beeps.

When you unlock it , it also beeps 5 times right away after the you hear the door actuators "click" ; same type of very fast beeps; I will record it next time I go to see her..

did you notice how many times the LED blinks?

look at the video and count the blinks after you lock the vehicle

I think the issue is your alarm siren

The system checks presence of a functioning siren module, and he it's telling you by beeping that the module is not responding

I did look at the led , but it does not seem to blink differently when you lock it for a number of times... Just like in that video, it keeps blinking. It stops blinking during the 5 beeps, but then continues... If it's the alarm siren, should I just remove it and change the batteries to start with ?

It can be one of two things (or both) with your mdule.

    a) bad batteries
    b) circuit issue.

    Try the battery issue first.

Be patient with cutting open the seam on the module. It takes times.

I used a box cutter slowly and repeatedly on the seam before I got mine to open cleanly

After replacing the batteries just tape the unit together and try the system.

If it then works OK glue the housing and tape again

If not (due to a circuit failure) then you might need to get a new module

Let me know if you need help.

I did a full write-up for FC about 15 years ago how to do this

    I can send to you

Is the siren on the F430 opened in the same way as the F360? The siren looks different in online photos.

I've opened up a siren on my F355 (same as 360) using a box cutter. It's very tedious. That plastic is super hard, but slower is better, so you don't cut through the wrong parts.

    Hi,

Just wanted to update this thread. The 5 beeps are definitely caused by the low battery in the siren. I replaced mine with a new one and beeps are gone.
The sirens are available for 85 pounds at Eurospares (plus shipping) and they are a new model which seems to be made of 2 parts screwed on together, so no need to cut open if battery goes low in the future.

    https://www.eurospares.co.uk/Parts/243877/Ferrari/New/3277

    Hope this helps someone.

Is it a straight swap out of parts or do you need to do any gymnastics with the immobilizer when you swap it out?

No gymnastics. Remove boot liner/carpet, cut the water shield (glue is hard as rock , you won't be able to remove-reuse), take plug out of old one, remove 13mm screw holding it to the chassis. Replace with new, put it back, tape up the cut you just did, put boot carpet back on.

I had a wrinkle as 2 hexscrews stripped and i had to drill them heads to take them out... but if you are lucky it could just be a half hour affair.

Alarm just works fine and no more beeps.

Anogher quick fyi.. the one I removed is also made of 2 parts and can have the batteries replaced if you are handy with soldering.. cr123a batteries. At least on my car it was.

Hey sorry, I changed my mind. I will keep it. The new one looks flimsy and not the same quality... I am removing batteries on this one just so they don't leak and keep it as a spare.

    Cheers
