    Hi there,

430 brakes don't seem strong enough at times, and sometimes the pedal loses feel, so I'm assuming fluid boiled over (slightly spirited driving but have done a lot worse in my 360 and braking didn't degrade as bad)?

Question is, are there any upgraded pads for the 430, and could the pedal symptons be due to previously boiled fluid? Am I correct in assuming the 6k mile service changes brake fluids?

    Thanks in advance.

I've never experienced any brake fade even at the track with stock fluid. I have replaced the pads with Ferodo DS2500. My guess is you are experiencing pad fade.

    Thanks all.

Don't want to change the entire set up so will try out different pads (thanks Gary for the suggestion) and have them flush the fluid at service. Three hard stops at 100-120 caused pedal to lose feel and go through quite far towards the floor.

My 360 took many laps before it started to go, which was a combo of the pads wearing out (which were pretty new at the time!) and the fluid boiling over. And those were stops from 175 mph (real not speedo) stops. Which is what surprised me with the 430.

If you don't hear from me again, it's either coz I'm in a ditch somewhere or I managed to get the brakes sorted :D

    Thank you again.

My 430 hasn't been on the track (yet) but I ran Ferodo 2500's in my 360--the improvement in feel was good. These are a streetable pad as well, though the squeel.

One thing i made the mistake with when first driving the car hard was when you go on the brake very hard it is very easy to trail the throttle by mistake especially if your not wearing narrow soled shoes.

I only noticed this when from a lower speed i flipped the paddles into neutral whist still braking fairly hard and noticed the revs were around 3000 rpm
and of course the harder you brake the ............. you get the idea

now I always wear narrow trainers or my karting boots and the thing stops on a pin.

Personally I haven't tried any other brand...the Ferodo's seem to do the job, wear well, don't dust much at all, and they are quite inexpensive to boot.

    Hi Gary,

Are the pads noisy? (if so all the time, or when cold/hot?).

Also, are they very abrasive on the discs?

    Thanks in advance!

They don't seem too hard on the discs, and are only occasionally noisy on light application. Not a deal breaker to me at all, and I'm fairly sensitive to brake squeal.
