    A few shots of the first 430 Challenge to hit the track in Victoria. It is apparently one of 5 in Oz, 4 in Rosso Corsa/Scuderia and one in Giallo. Owner of this one has exclusively black cars, so he has a new black one coming next year (2007)- remembering challenge cars are produced in only one run per year. It ran street tyres as there are NO 19" slicks available here yet. I think he was doing 1 min 53's and the street rubber looked brand new when they packed it up at days end.

    The right front was a bit curly, but yes, he did a lot of laps and looked after it sensibly.

    Beautiful, although doesn't look all that different from the road car without a huge spoiler on the back.

    5th Gear (UK car show) are reviewing on of these next week, should be good.

    It still has a lot of road car in it though it has pinced some stuff from the Michelotto parts bins. I thought the quick change Lexcan windscreen was pretty cool.

    let's hope they keep it that way! wings spoil the lines of those cars, i reckon. people just need to learn to drive better! isn't they why they put them on the 360ch? cos people couldn't keep them on the road?

    The 360CH and 355CH (maybe the odd wing) didn't look much different from the road-going counterparts either.

    well, a breast or thigh will stop them in their tracks, and a parsons nose will get peepee all excited.

    Is 1 min 53 a competetive time with or without slicks?
    And the "quick release" windscreen is a cool addition also.
    And is that the way the car comes from the factory?? The 430 in the pics? Minus the advertising on it :p

    The time is meaningless, as he was protecting the tyres as much as possible. PI kills any tyres, let alone roadies on a race car.

    The screen is Lexan (perspex). Gonna scratch like buggery (especially in a wet race). Easy to make, ship and transport fresh ones though.

    Yesm, that car is totally stock.

    Im confused... If he only owns black cars and this one is red doesnt that mean he doesnt have exclusively black cars :p

    ALSO

    Since its a track/race car why doesnt he just respray it black...

    Don't see the confusion. He has lots of cars and they are all black, it's been that way since the year dot. The 430C is that colour 'cause it was that or nothing for this year. SO NEXT year he will get a black one. I asked about respraying the Rosso Scuderia car and he said that "they are never right, you get stone chips and the red shows through. Better to have a factory black car".
