Greetings, does anyone have experience or experienced a situation where when putting top up the passanger cowl / cover does not close ? drivers side does !

im thinking an adjustment on rear hinge ? or possibly low hydrolic fluid ?

    Any thoughts greatly appreciated

Dont force it!!!!! Its a $60K assembly.

Take an image, or several images of the failed position please and post them.

I dont fully understand the failure and what exactly happened step-by-step.

Thanks I certainly will not force it, I will take some photos tonight and that will help explain the issue.

It could be an alignment issue with the convertible system. When I was searching for a 430 spider, I had looked at cars that were diagnosed with misalignment (from looking at the service record). The fact that the cover does not close fully may be indicative of this.

Im thinking the same, there are a couple of allen bolts on the hinge / linkage that may just need adjusting.

These things are finicky. Mine doesn't trigger the last micro-switch on the open top cycle by a hair. Everything looks perfect, but no 'beeps', and top warning icon stays lit. WHen closing, everything cycles perfectly, including the beeps and top icon light extinguishing itself. I'd think it's the same switch, but could be wrong. And Sunday, after opening the top for the first time after a triple treatment of RaggTopp, opened up fine. Hmmm. That last switch just needs a minute adjustment to trigger it every time.

And yes, it's a great idea to check hydraulic fluid level; I need to do that too. Reservoir is behind passenger's seat panel. I saved the 360 procedure, which should be the same. Some crap needs to be removed to gain access to the reservoir. I'm waiting to remove the seats for the bushing job (requires center console removal, which requires seat removal), when it'll be easier to work on that area. Also need to find out a suitable fluid to top off if needed (anyone?).

By the way, I also don't understand what problem you're having. A pic is worth a thousand words :). Good luck.

    TAKE TO DEALER.

Had the same problem with mine. A rod/ram
In the assembly is likely bent. It happens from opening and or
Closing the roof on an incline. The stress on the roof components causes compOnents to bend.

I forced this on mine. Caused both flaps to BREAK off. Dealer had to take car for about 2 months. Took tons of repairs, ordering new flaps, repainting flaps, etc.

Thank god, I was still under warranty.

If its the Capote flap I had the same problem on my 360. I lubbed the drive cable and it came ok for a while, but then wrecked itself recently. The cost to buy and install a replacement is horrific, I got quoted £1500 plus painting (including the mechanism). Im checking the brakers for a replacement but they are hard to find.
    Good luck.

Capote is slang for "Condom" in French. I find this entertaining. Yes I know it means Top or Cover in Italian.

Please delete my comment, it is in poor taste. I am a useless CO2 generating unit, approximately 900 grams today.

Took it to the Shop this am and was sorted in 15 mins, would appear that a slight adjustment was all that was required. :)
