I'm looking to get some wheels for my 360 and I see some are offered as Original OEM but they are sold out of China. They appear to have the right markings as far as the Speedline, Ferrari, etc. and even are shown in a Ferrari box.

Has anybody gotten dupped by such originals ending up being counterfeit?

    Thanks!

I wouldn't trust any wheels out of China listed as OEM. That said, many reputable suppliers get their wheels made in China if you're not picky about the origin. It's all about quality control and domestic companies usually have stricter measures in place versus a random Chinese company just selling knock offs which likely adhere to no standards.

I would put a wanted ad in the for sale section. There's almost always a set for sale or someone with a spare set you can get for a deal. eBay has a number as well.

The best way to determine if they're genuine is by weight. Somewhere there is a list of OEM wheel options along with their actual weights. If the company you're buying from can't supply per wheel weight, then you can go by shipping weight, which should be close enough.

I agree with Joe. Quality control is the issue. As a shop owner I see a lot of "imported" parts that do not have any regard for set standards; DOT, UL, etc. Wheels are something I don't take a chance on. Good luck holding a Company in Asia responsible for any product failure here in the US...FWIW
