Maybe this question has already been answered but I don´t know, and, isn´t it GOOD? I think that they are in the same second, but does anyone know the exact time.
I was in Fiorano race track myself and the 430 felt marevellous (even in water), it´s a pitty that I couldn´t "taste" the CS.
I don't remember the exact times (a search would turn them up) but I seem to recall the CS being about 1/2 sec quicker. Equalize the tires and the 430 is faster. Gary
Of course I believe what u say, but when I was in Fiorano, the instructors told me that CS was slightly faster, that was because altough the 83 hp difference, the weight was "heavier" in the final result, I mean because it´s lighter u can go faster altough is more powerfull, (I think I just made a mess with the explication ) anyway I think u can understand. CU & thanks for the data
Shhhhh Gary, you don't "believe" in track time comparisons unless they take place "on the same day, with the same driver", remember?
Yes they are real close on track even at Fiorano, kind of like they also are on the Nurburgring and Hockenheim.....
Good one! But I do think Ferrari tries to equalize times to the extent possible using the same drivers, and they have the advantage of being able to run many, many laps to eliminate anomolies, unlike the one or two lap test times you see from the Ring. That said I stand by my statement, I don't buy any times that are not same driver, same day, same tires. But like everyone else, I like to talk about 'em. Gary
For your info, in the test of the 430/360CS at both Nurburgring, and Hockenheim, they used the same driver as the Gallardo.
can anyone tell mefrom where do u have the data? Same day, same driver... I think in fiorano when they make the tests they do that. But with the same tyres, DO YOU REALLY THINK A 430 IS FASTER THAN A CS?????????? BY the way I love 430
same tyres , 430 IS quicker than a CS . i wouldn't take ferraris lap times as gospel . are they going to tell everyone that the 430 is quicker than the limited edition CS ? ... no way . they could run both cars on the same tyre but choose not to . don't get me wrong , i love ferrari but get tired of the incorrect info they push out on hp etc . but i'd still take an enzo
Their info isn't "incorrect" in the least. The CS is a car that's intended for the track, hence the tires on it are applicable for that purpose. The F430 on the other hand is meant for the street, hence the tires on serve a different purpose with different goals. It wasn't Ferrari trying to be misleading, or for some reason trying to pump up the prestige of a car they stopped making 18 months ago, lol. It's simply what market the car is intended for, resulting in different OEM tire choices from the factory. Man, you guys will dream up any scenario to justify results one way or the other, even attacking the factory. Wow.
And how have Ferrari got a time for 360CS at Fiorano, on Pirelli Corsas.... when no such 19" tyre exists..... The car must have been using Corsa System, not Corsa or was modified with 18" wheels to fit the tyres.
With corsa I wanted to say corsa system I'm sorry. Pzero corsa (competition) will be available in few months. Those lap times was told me from an engine engineer from Ferrari factory
