Hey there, I am re-installing my dash after fixing the defrost vents. I have a plug I can’t identify. Can someone help? Blue plug in the glove box wiring. The white plug is for the release motor. The light is plugged in. Can’t find the home of this blue one to save my life! Image Unavailable, Please Login

Can you identify the wire colours (including the narrow stripes)?

I recently had my dash recovered and one of the members made a video of removal and re installation. maybe this will help. He goes over most of the wires as he reassembles the dash Everything worked. Is is the airbag switch wire??

I would bet that is for the passenger airbag connection

Airbag is yellow if I recall from when I got mine re-covered.Button to drop the glovebox?

What did you use as a reference for removing the dash? I have the vents to do also but would like to know the steps.

Possibly for the airbag deactivation switch (where fitted), visible with the passenger door open, although the wire colour given in the wiring diagrams is plain purple, not black/purple.

The passenger airbag has blue and brown wires (usually with a yellow sheath). The only black/purple wire in the airbag system is attached to the overhead light assembly (an earth for the passenger airbag deactivated warning light)

Black/purple is sometimes a sensor earth wire colour and black is usually an earth. That makes no sense at all.
There is a black/purple wire on the immobiliser antenna, but that's nowhere near that area.
The driver's speaker wire is black/purple, but that's on the wrong side. Sometimes there is an antenna wire in that area on Ferraris, but that's usually a single wire (and is red on the F430)
Glovebox switch wires are grey and plain black.
I could find no black/purple wires in the HVAC system.

    I'll keep searching.

Maybe if you get a smaller picture of the blue connector

May be unused. There were a lot if unused connectors differing on models and accessories. There were a few blue boxes that remained attached to the dash. Did all of those get reconnected?

I do have the black and purple going to the airbag deactivation switch.

I think I am going to reinstall everything except the glovebox and see if it all works. If it is used, it has to be somewhere behind the airbag or in that area, so I won't really box myself in. I had to install the airbag twice because I didn't hook up the light that is underneath it, and there are some dohickies back in that area. If something is not working, it should point me in the right direction.

    Greatly appreciate the help!

Is it in range of the the sun/solar radiation sensor on top the dash? The wiring diagrams show brown and black/white wires, though.

    GOT IT!
It's the plunger / light switch. Doesn't need to be unplugged to drop the glovebox or airbag, can't see it, can't reach it through the GB opening when the airbag is in place. But you can get to it from the center opening... so I am back in business!

(Props to Haris, who once again proves to be a guru).
