Is it possible to get a 430 down to 3000 lbs or less? I'm thinking sport seats, light weight battery, remove the items from the front "trunk", fabspeed headers, hyperflow cats, and capristo exhaust might drop about 130 lbs.

After that, the above exhaust plus bmc filters and a ecu tune should get 550 bhp (?). Just wondering if the 430 can get down to 5.5lbs/hp. Or if the 5.5 is possible on a CS for that matter.

Yes, it is very possible, I was considering to do it, but bought a Scuderia instead.

The stock F430 with standard brakes weighs 3,366 lbs with a full tank of fuel on the standard US version.

Weight with no fuel for a 2007 F430 is 3,210 lbs, so to get under 3,000 lbs you will need:

    - Race seats, not the Scuderia/Stradale seats, but something lighter (F430 Challenge Seats), you will save around 60 lbs total
    - Custom wheels -20 lbs (forged aluminum)
    - a 7 lbs lithium battery saves 35 lbs
    - empty windshield wiper reservoir, -15 lbs
    - remove trunk tool, -10 lbs
    - Exhaust, big weight reduction here, new headers, sport cats, and a Ti muffler, you can erase 50 lbs from the stock system

At this point you have reached 3,020 lbs. If you find a car with CCB then you're right at 3,000 lbs with no fuel, which is just 14 lbs heavier than my 09 Scuderia with no fuel. Indeed a standard F430 with CCB and the mods above would be lighter than a 08 Scuderia without the carbon package.

The Modena does not put that much power to the ground, it does around 320rwhp on a dynojet, and it is rated at 400Hp. Power to the wheels is what matters, the engine in the Modena can be rated at 400Hp, but a 2004 GT3 rated at 380Hp puts around 355rwhp and it is a lot quicker.

The F430 puts in between 400-405 rwhp, good power but horrible torque curve below 6000rpm. It is rated at 483Hp in US. with a power kit (air boxes, filter, ECU tuning, headers, cats, etc) FabSpeed has reached 450 rwhp which is almost a 50Hp increase, so that would get the car to around 540Hp at the crank using Ferrari loses, you can get another 10Hp tuning for higher octane fuel.

I haven't dynoed my Scuderia yet, but another owner got 428rwhp. A F430 with the mods above would accelerate quicker than a stock Scuderia.

Wow....amazing reply. Thank you for taking the time. I've copied and pasted this into a word document for future reference.

Well I can not say this for a fact since I have not driven a 430 that has had all of these things done to it, but since the scud has a different F1 system, and I would imagine it is programed to use the power band differently, I not convinced the 430 would be faster. If it were me, I'd drop a supercharger in the 430, probably not that big of a cost difference from doing all that other stuff and then you have a much faster car. I have learned over the years, go big or do not go at all.

I considered FI but dismissed it because usually putting an FI system on the car is just the start of the mods you need to make. It's usually followed by a beefier clutch, beefed up motor, tranny, half shafts, differential, and such. I posed the question what would really need to be upgraded if the Novitec twin supercharger was added but I didn't get any responses. Are there any other FI options besides the almost $60k Novitec kit?
