I currently have a 355 with capristo stage 3 and a challenge rear grill. I'm going after a 430 I have found. I plan on a cap 3, would most go for the full system? Also challenge grill? I've heard they are expensive and difficult to fit?
The 430 challenge rear grill also requires the use of a special bumper. Here is some info. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/360-430/409774-430-carbon-fiber-challenge-grill-installed.html
Essential: Get rid of the wimpy horns for air horns. Swap out the exhaust. If it's a driver, swap out the brake pads for ones that emit less dust. These are my top 3 that have been/is being done to my 430.
Its better to find a 430 with a challenge grill already. The cost of conversion to it after the fact is way too high for me. It's a simple job for the 360.
The number one mod has to be to replace the headers for something that wont potentially lunch the engine.
Not sure why you would change the 430's already awesome stock exhaust. With the valves open it sounds absolutely amazing and certainly loud enough. And this is with stock headers! By changing the headers to Fabspeed or Cappy with no precats it will sound that much better. Just get yourself a Forza Componenti remote valve bypass unit and enjoy. Not a big fan of the rear challenge grill on anything other than a black or grey 430. I think it breaks up the look of the rear bumper. Just my opinion obviously. Good move going from a 355 to a 430. I did the same thing and couldn't be happier. But a 355 with a level 3 Cappy sounds like nothing else on the road.
Didn't really prefer any prior. Since Forza is a fellow fchatter and is extremely knowledgable I went with his. Also price was significantly cheaper. Support is great as well since it's a one man operation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
headers exhaust brackets springs with higher spring rates if going to lower (h&r, scud, Novitec, custom)
I don't think you need different springs. I know plenty that have used the stock springs to lower car to euro ride height which is approximately 3/4 inch or 22mm. It doesn't sound like much but it looks just right. Any lower is crazy. I bottom the front bumper MUCH more now than before lowering. I don't notice any changes in drive or handling using stock springs.
I'm on the fence re the challenge grill for the 430. Mine didn't come with it. It wasn't on my must have options list. My car is red and I can take it or leave it on red 430s. It's a must have IMO for 360s.
As many have said, the headers are an essential modification to any F430. They aren't even so much a modification as much as they are a preventative maintenance item with substantial sound and performance increases. Another great increase are carbon air boxes and high flow filters. You get noticeable power and a phenomenal sound for a fraction of the cost of the Scuderia air boxes.

I just installed the Forza remote and installation is a breeze (well I have a 99 360 so no air pump on the LHS so easy access to the connection). Alan
Sooo I've reached a deal on a F430 and put a deposit down. I'm going to order a capristo stage 3 and manifolds.. Can't wait!!
