Hi, I have a 2006 f430 spider F1. After about 1500 miles on the car I noticed the following. I was starting out in the car in 1st gear and it would not easily engage. The engine hit 2500-3500 RPM and the car did not seem to get power to the wheels. If I was going up a hill the same thing and the car would be inch a long. this primarly happens when the car is cold. I could also smell it burning. This has concerned me and I have taken it in. I have had the clutch adjusted twice , but very quickly after I run into the same problem. First time I took the car in with 1800 miles, the clutch showed 0 wear. at 2300 miles the car showed 8% wear. The car has 3000 miles and now showes 12% wear. Anyone else with the smae problem? Is the cluch wear normal for the amount of miles? My concern is that due to a problem beyond my control I am experiencing excessive wear. Thoughts?
I think the percentage of clutch wear on your car is not extraordinary. However, the driving characteristic is not normal. I would have the dealer check it out again.
That would be my thought as well. What do they tell you when they take it for a test drive? You should go with the tech. IMO the 430's should be rather light on the clutches but unfortunately there probably have not been many people with any issues yet. Getting the car properly diagnosed is not unlike going to the Dr. when you've got a problem, you have to listen to yourself and then not accept anything that does not correlate to the specific problem. Let us know what the dealer says?
the car is being adjusted as we speak, they were able to replicate the problem. They tighten the clutch. My concern is with the wear and the fact that it keeps happening. I am going to go for a drive with the lead tech when I pick it up.
