I've searched and can't find much info specific to mounting a fire extinguisher in a 2007 f430. I have a 2.5lb halon with bracket, but I don't want to drill holes in the floor if there is a better method out there... any good aftermarket mounting solutions that will pass inspection at a DE day?

Around town behind the seat, or even velcro could work, but for a Drivers Ed Track Day the fire extinguisher must be firmly attached to the vehicle and within drivers reach.

+1 I believe it also has to be a metal mounting bracket - No plastic allowed. As to drilling holes - I would say no big deal - Any future owner *should* be happy that there's an extinguisher in there, properly and securely mounted.....

Mine's bolted to the parcel shelf (360 BTW) behind the passenger seat - Neat & clean.

    Cheers,
    Ian

My ferrari salesman once said to me on considering the fire extinguisher option "would you want a partially burnt Ferrari?".

Haven't bothered with a little tank in the car since. Of course I take the race cars rather more seriously, but to me other than in a race car a fire extinguisher is simply auto-jewelry, would you really open the rear deck if there was an oil fire in there to attempt to put it out? Its not like you're likely to need to put out a cigarette fire on the carpet these days either :)

AND it makes your lady passengers whine about the big thing in the passenger footwell that they bang their ankles on.

My 360 Spider factory fitted fire extinguisher was mounted on rear shelf between the seats. The CS I now have is factory mounted on the passenger floor so guess you should go with one of these fixing points on the F430 see no problem with CAREFULL well drilled holes........

I need to put a fire extinguisher in my 360 for a track event next month. Can you 360 guys show me your mounting spots?

Were you the original owner? Never saw a factory fitted extinguisher mounted to the rear shelf/wall.

Ridiculous statement but then again, it was from a car salesman. Personally I'd rather be well equipped then not and that goes for any situation. Wouldn't really put a fire extinguisher in auto jewelry category. However, IMO items such as CF options which are merely cosmetic or aesthetic and serve no function would be.

Excuse me for asking, I am an absolute track novice, but is that accessible enough to pass tech? It looks lioke a good spot to me. Also, does the passenger seat bump into it when it goes all the way back? Granted it's usually reclined enough that the headrest bumps first.
