Hello FC'ers I have a 2009 430 Scuderia and use the OEM car cover that came with it. After living in Manhattan and parking in the garage, I feel that the cover has develop a layer of grim which is causing some swirls on my paint. Question, am I able to clean the cover? If so, do I put it in my washing machine and air dry or should I have it dry cleaned? Any members have experience with this?
I've always washed my covers in the washing machine and dry with heat on lowest setting. No problems.
Hey alex! Yea i dry cleaned my cover and it's good as new. I rarely put my cover on for that reason, that it will leads to microabrasions and swirls over time. Plus dust actually goes through the cover leading to more abrasion. You need an impenetrable barrier like plastic to put over your car cover if your goal is to keep the dust out.
