I know you will mate, I know you will!! **Sniff sniff**. As soon as I hit US soil, ill let you know mate. Just dont hold your breath.
i myself have been trying for 7 years (since before September 11), and it very tough to get into the US, unless you 1. win the green card lottery 2. get sponsorship from a company over there 3. start a new business for $1m us so not that easy. i cant wait for the day i can finally move there. its a beautiful country, has cheap cars, and would be a nice place to live (appart from the handgun's/crime, poor medical system, imigrant problems, and poloution anyway)
Looney Im not to sure what profession you are in but as a result of the Australia and United States free trade agreement the US created a new visa category for us Aussies called the E3. 10,500 E3 visas are available annually and Im told only about 600 people apply each year. The E3 visa allows us Aussies to: Work in the USA for 2 years (the E3 visa can be renewed every 2 years - forever) You just need a job offer from the U.S. (thats it) Have a degree Quick google should give you all the info you need.
thanks for that, however i generally cant apply under that, as im not an Australian Citizen. additionally, i do not have any 'work' skills that anyone would desire, as im only an entry level pleb. i make my living from investing, and thats not really of any benefit to any country/economy, its only beneficial to myself, hence i dont really fit any 'skills' type of visa's. i could easily just get a work visa (before i turn 30, as that is part of the cutoff) but i dont want a working visa, i want to have a green card. but the Goldcoast as my new home should be a big improvement over Perth. (for now)
but thank you very much for providing some usefull information seems often comments on this site are simply for entertainment value, and often not of any actual 'content'
I have been to USA about 10 times and travelled and lived in many different city and states.Done business with heaps of American companies.Even offered a top job, apartment and package kicking off at US$60k + bonus 10 years ago. Heaps of work on offer in USA. Americans are real nice [esp. in the south] patriotic people, i love most US girls and the country is amazing in beauty and the differences between N-S and E-W.Also a very cheap place to live.[Excl NY] Just something is wrong with the place which i cannot put my finger on it, and i am always happy to leave the joint.[Bit like Adelaide lol] No offence to our American brothers! YOU ALREADY LIVE IN THE GREATEST COUNTRY ON THE PLANET!!Trust me on this, just stay here! Ciao M
yes ive traveled the world extensively, and feel that Europe is totally over-rated? i just dont get it. its OK to visit, but i swear i couldnt live there. Have no interest in South America or Africa, but the US seems to offer allot, and cheap cars is a bonus too . Australia is great and thats why im still here, but Perth is a $#!thole (pretty, but a backwards, country$#!Thole nevertheless), so the GC should be better.
Good luck whatever you decide! I tell you something though, if i was 10 years younger and a single puppy i would be on the next plane to China. The money to be made there [both in export and importing] is beyond belief. China is THE centre of the world now, still time to get in on the ground floor. Ciao M
I wouldn't mind living in LA for afew months, try and get a movie/tv role or something hahaha I want to visit USA later in the year, so pap get that place already haha.
but is it actually a good place to live? i don't believe in sacrificing quality of life for making money. it's a serious question...i have no idea about china.
Gold Coast? I like to holiday there but there seems to be no real stuff happening outside tourism. Isn't it a place you go to to retire?
Try http://canberra.usembassy.gov/consular/visa-e3.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-3_visa Thanks a good start
