I am about to pull the trigger on a 430 scud but ran into a dilemma. If thinking in terms of resale down the road which would be a better choice?

White with Gray interior w/ 4500 miles

Red with Black interior w/ 8000 miles

Both priced the same with all the same options. It would seem the white exterior is more desirable but would buyers overlook the gray interior? Red/Black just seems so typical and with almost double the miles.

    Thoughts?

    Buy what YOU want.

You are obviously content with either colour option so why wouldn't anyone else be come resale time?

At a guess the first is the FLI car being discussed about ten threads down and possibly in another about five down

Hurry before someone else buys it !

Don't buy for the next owner. For what it's worth Red and White are both top resale colours.

As above, buy the color that you want.

But to answer your question, if the price is the same, the white one is a better 'value' not only because white is more desirable at the moment (I have a red one, but was torn to get a white one as well. I debated this for months. In the end I chose the color I wanted more), but also because it has half the miles. 4000 miles is HUGE for scuds. For some scuds, that covers about 2 owners (at an average of 2000 miles each). That gives you a mileage 'buffer' so to speak to drive it like hell. The large depreciation point in mileage and perception appears to be over 10k miles.

Gray interior is not the first choice for most, but white appears to be such a draw that most buyers seem to overlook it. When I was shopping, I noticed that white seemed to have more atypical interiors be it gray or leather versus the standard black tech fabric/black alcantara.

    Good luck with the purchase!

I would buy the one with half the miles. Though I don't like white so I'd buy red. But if you like white then definitely get white.

White = less visually louder than red imo, which I would prefer since I like to use my f-car often and I want fewer pp gravitating to it. Less miles better too.

On the other hand if you are not going to drive it but to a few c&c events and you Do want the attention, then get red...

    Both are excellent colors!

Resale Red-> Always bigger market, but white looks fabulous on a scud and on 458s (with black roof).

But I also agree, buy what makes you most happy.

    agree with everything said.
if you like both, then fewer miles is key. depending on how much you are going to drive you already have an extra 4000 miles in the bank.
its a great problem that you have.

One color should grab your heart more than the other - buy that color.

I have white and to me it's stunning.

As said the white has half the miles which makes for better "value"

    Any pics?

you don't even own it and you are already worried about resale ?

Here is a thought, don't buy it at all.

Sorry to be unhelpful but I seriously don't understand this concept, I buy a car and I own it, what its worth when I am done with it is what it cost to enjoy it.

Every car I've ever purchased I thought I would own forever. I always purchase the extended warranty; I have a collection of oil/air filters and wiper blade inserts in my garage right now. However, the reality for me is that I do get bored quickly and tend to pass them on within a year or two. So the concept of minimizing my loss at time of sale makes perfect sense to me.

Regardless I believe the white one it is, took my better half to see it this morning and knew it was a go when she half jokingly said she needed a pair of boots to go w/ the interior.
