Hi everyone, Haven't posted in a while. I have an issue and would like to get some of your thoughts and ideas before heading to the dealership. When driving on the imperfections on the road I hear a rattling sound coming from the rear of the car, it sounds like 2 pieces of metal hitting each other (clap clap sound) as in the item is loose and is shifting around hitting a near by structure. Initially I thought it would be some exhaust bracket or clamp. But I noticed that when I press on the brakes the sound goes away and when I let go it comes back, which makes me think that the rear pads are somehow moving around and clapping against the rear brake disks. The car is a 2009 430 Scuderia. Thanks
I had same issue on my F430 , all airboxes screws were loose...picked my Scud 2 weeks ago , opened engine bay and same thing...all screws loose...I belive it's a recurring problem
thanks for the reply. If it was the air box screws how would applying the brakes make the sound disappear?
Suspension joints - a common 430 & 360 issue, I've have mine 2.5 years, covered 8K miles, and had it back with the dealer 3 times, all covered by Ferrari Just got back from a 1500 mile 5 day trip and they need doing again Mine is a 2009 car with 13K miles on it Dave
What exactly/more specifically about the suspension joints? Which ones? Loose bolts? Bad bushings? Other? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think one of the the most common issue is lower and upper ball joints. Hill engineering make upgraded joint. This has been an issue sine the 360. Do a search, should be more info in other threads.
