So the car is starting to show it's age (2006/2007) UK 430. Ran into two problems in the same day so just wrote one thread to get some input. For the record, there is no dealer anywhere near my location.

    1) Stuck window

The drivers side window is currently stuck in the up position. Fuses are ok, but the window won't go down (or up). I can hear the light whirr of an electrical device trying to engage when the button is depressed but it's not the window motor as I don't feel the window attempt to move at all.

The window does not automatically lower to open/close the door and it is also 'stuck' in a strange position... it is about 1/4" too high and causes a problem to close the door. The window being too high up also tore thru a portion of the rubber casing on the A pillar section as a result (oh joy).

I know there is an ecu that controls the windows which i have not yet checked... the passenger window works just fine. I am wondering if the drivers window went off track or has a faulty relay or it's the ecu. Anyone experience this ?

    2) Non locking boot lid latch

The front lid for the boot recently gave a problem to close. I popped it open as usual and when I went to close it, it wouldn't stay latched. I normally drop the lid and firmly press on the front shield to lock it closed. This time it would just rebound and not stay locked. I went ahead and disassembled the trim to inspect and lube the latch and concluded that the locking solenoid was not engaging when I closed the lid. During this time I noticed that there was significant moisture buildup (mist) on the underside of the boot (it was very rainy that morning and the car was parked outside the office). So I left the latch uncovered for a few minutes and it later locked as per usual. (after some probing of the latch and lock mechanism. Could this be from moisture buildup ? In working with car audio and automation, I have not seen a quality solenoid fail from such a minor build-up of moisture before.

I just had the same window issue occur on my 2009 430 Scud. I am going to take the car to the service deptment on Tues but was interested in how your window issue was resolved?

For windows, mine did the same. had to replace the electric window module that is hidden under the dash on the right side of the car.
