lads , am very close to spec my 430 with the dealer . please supply your ideal combination. thanks rock on
How about some lateral thinking instead? For the $500k that the F430 is going to cost you, you could get a decent F40 which is unlikely to depreciate $200k over the next 4 years (unlike a 430).
You could also get 3 or 4 Boxers, 7 or 8 308's (SEVEN OR EIGHT!!!), 2 512 TR's, 1 360 GT car, 1 360M AND a 360C to track. 430 is way pricey, and they're gonna make too many. F40 or even a 288GTO money is comparable.......
It will be quite some time before 430's are available near list price. An early delivery is going to hold it's value for at least 2 years IMO.
Makes you drool just thinking about all those cars... You could name them like the lotto add.... Monday, Tuesday, Wed etc etc... Think of all the chicks.... Now lets spend the $200k depreciation over 4 years Scott mentioned....
No, I guess they don't love me anymore? I was told that another round of options pricing was released today and it's even more outrageous than the ceramic brakes. Apparently the full interior and engine bay carbon fibre option is $46,000.00 !! I had all that on my 360 (Tubi aftermarket) and it came in at $8500.oo if memory serves me correctly.
**** me! when is it that these kind of "average annual income" numbers which are just partial options on a dam car start to become not-insane?
Don't know that you are correct there Stephen. The trade believes that the premium over list will disappear within 3 months and it will never be more than $20-30k for the very first cars. Now as your average punter, you will pay full list, plus the odd option and all the relevant taxes etc. You will be fronting the best part of $500k for a potential return of $20-30k IF you are lucky, and then the buyer will want to trade his old ride on it. So anyone buying a 430 to flip..........think twice IMHO. I predict cars under list on the second hand market relatively quickly- real sale prices, not asking prices. The waiting list for new cars will remain for a while longer though. Then there is the unknown of Ferrari dropping in the odd "limited edition" model....... New Ferraris are just production cars with the exception of the Enzo and it's ilk. The production car prices can only head south !
Now consider that the F40 has actually gone UP in price over the last 12-18 mths- to the tune of about $70k odd US dollars. The F50's (more $$ admittedly) have gone sideways since the Enzo turned up and are pretty much fully depreciated. So does it really make economical sense to park $500k in a 430?? Probably not and in 2-3 yrs you will see 430's everywhere. When was the last time you saw an F40 in your travels out and about......
haha...when has owning a ferrari ever have anything to do with praticality? Buy it, spank the crap out of it and sell it down the road for minimal loss. Most 360 owners did well. Anyone who can afford a 430 can afford to lose a little in depreciation. Go with yellow, rosso scuderia or dark blue with tan leather racing seats, or alcantra if they offer it. Take the CCB.
Well if it were me id get the following Weekender spec Nero Daytona Exterior Rosso Interior manual box (not for everybody though_ Better Brakes Race seats Daily driver spec Grigio Titanio Exterior Saba, Rosso, or Nero interior (I reckon all of these colours go) F1 box better brakes Race seats the reason for the difference in colour, is that a weekender obviously isnt on the road that much and dont get too dirty too quickly thats my $0.02
you don't see F40's on the street as it can't be registered. If it could I would by 1 but it can't. If you took the 430 for a spin , you would quickly forget about the possible $$$ lost in the future. " see 430's everywhere" , did you see 360's everywhere? NO. the words economical , sense and ferrari are never used together in the 1 sentence. rock on
Ever heard of a 28 day permit? Get as many as you like and drive the car as often as you like (some time restrictions). Register it in WA if you can swing it. I don't know where you live; but they sold HUNDREDS of the 360's in Australia. You can't drive around some suburbs without seeing them every time you go anywhere. "If you took the 430 for a spin , you would quickly forget about the possible $$$ lost in the future. " - I seriously doubt it, the 430 is just another production car. Perhaps you should drive an F40/F50? Seriously special. Your money, spend it any way you want. Lots of people are obviously happy to be the first on the block with the latest model. It's going to cost you was my point
So many comments I could make on those last two posts...but I'll restrict it to this....as a %age, you probably lost less on the 360 than you would have with just about any other car.
