Hi, I started my 430 this morning after a couple of months (no trickle charger). The brake pedal vibrated but the car eventually started. However, the abs, brake failure, CST, and e-diff warning lights have all come on. The car won’t go into reverse. I checked fault codes using my scanner and there are lots of codes relating to the abs system, engine’ differential etc. There were no fault codes last time I drove the car at Xmas. Could it be just a low battery? I did run the car for 30 mins to charge the battery but it hasn’t helped.

That's the cause of your problem. You left a battery in a Ferrari off tender for several months during a UK winter. Change out the battery and put a new one in. The battery is likely permanently damaged now. Go to Youtube or search the forums for how to reset things after putting in a new battery.

    Shut battery cut off
    Change battery
    Turn battery cut off on
Clear codes while key is on position
Start car ..let it get to 170 or so ..coolant
Then let it idle for 10 mins without any power draw or touching gas or AC

The. Drive it and let us know if any codes or issues

Since you are in uk, buy a Yuasa. They are used in motorbikes and comes with a 5 year warranty .

Ok, I haven’t obtained a new battery yet, but charged the existing one overnight. I followed Flash32’s instructions.
The fault is still present and all the error codes have returned. The sequence seems to be:
    1. Engine starts and runs ok (a couple of times the brake pedal vibrated as the engine was cranking over during startup).
    2. ‘Check ok’ indicator shows.
    3. After about 5 seconds the CST light comes on followed by the brake failure, ABS and E-diff lights.
    4. The will select 1st gear, but won’t go into reverse.

Using my Foxwell reader, there are error codes in engine left, engine right, ABS, instrument panel, suspension, and differential modules. It won’t read the capote or airbag modules. Each time I clear the codes they come back. The differential module code won’t clear.

Most of the errors are missed meaning it was a temp occurrence..my theory is during start up

I still think you need to replace the battery so we don't chase ghosts here

You can try to test it ...connect a volt meter to the battery terms and tell us the volts you get while sitting , starting /cranking ( this is better of you don't disarm it) and then engine running

Just FYI, I had a foxwell and found that during the read process, it would trigger multiple codes on it’s own. The best way is to check single functions instead of a “read all.” I had better luck with my autel AP200 for doing an overall read and not triggering codes during the process. Not saying all yours are from that, but it might make it harder to figure out which ones are real and which ones were triggered by the read. Of course, if you’ve used this reader in the past with no issues, then disregard.

I’ll also second Flash’s recommendation. New battery regardless. There have been plenty of stories here of people charging batteries with little effect but a new battery solving the issue.

Another vote for a new battery. Do you have a battery tender? You’ll need to keep it hooked up when you’re not driving it.

    Latest update:

I changed the battery and followed the power up procedure, the issue still exists.

after a few seconds the ABS, CST and e-diff lights come on.

also, transmission will go into 1st gear but not reverse, and the Manatino is in low grip mode even if I switch it to sport or race modes.

The fault codes are also still present. The e diff module fault code won’t clear.

My foxwell reader lets me see live data and special functions as well as the fault codes if that helps

Possibly a faulty computer dragging down the CAN Bus system, leading to no-comms. You may need to disconnect some of the computers (one by one) to see if any of the other faults disappear.

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

Scanner's "No communication with NFR" = brake system module

Or maybe a power issue. Check fuses: Check 4 dedicated fuses for Brake System (under the dash on the passenger side). PSF5 for Suspension System.

Just a quick update I worked with OP and after a thorough analysis on the phone of the F1 system and other systems we determined that the front right wheel sensor is not functioning correctly. OP will look at wiring, connectors, and sensor (root issue) and also possibly a maintenance item in the F1 system that needs to be replaced (not the root issue )

I will let OP elaborate when he gets it done

    Thanks all

Just to confirm that @flash32 spent a lot of time with me on the phone and WhatsApp over the weekend to diagnose abs sensor problem. We also discovered a possible weak ediff solenoid (it definitely needs bled) and possibly another sensor issue.

I’ll update as I progress the repair.
Thanks @flash32, that would have been an expensive 200 mile tow to my nearest indie specialist!!
