Hi All, I know there's another thread in here somewhere that talked about this. Mine is coming any day now and I think I might have screwed up with the Tan Dash (based on what others are saying). Can some that ACTUALLY has one like this tell me how that are coping with this? Is it really as bad as people say it is? I have a Toyota Prius too with a black dash and occasionally there's a glare from the LCD etc...etc.. I look pass through it. My neighbor has a ford explorer with the driver's side dash being black and the passenger side being tan. From looking through it...it doesn't seem that bad. Just looking for someone out there that actually has a tan dash/steering wheel to let me know if I did ok. I suppose worst case scenario....I can get a dash mat for those terrible occasions or purchase a new dash? Please advise.. Thanks
I am dealing with a customer that did the same thing. He ordered the tan dash and steering wheel and he says the glare is brutal, although he is from a mid-east country. We are setting him up with a new Novitec steering wheel and Novitec recovered dash. Good luck with yours.
the 6th picture clearly shows the "glare". Take a look and determine for yourself if it's distracting or not.
http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=86302 There really is no way around it . The yellow stiching on my black instrument is visibly reflected in certain lighting conditions . It's not a show stopper however , at least for me .
how did you screw up- because of glare? this will depend on many factors- one of which being how close you sit. As someone who HATES glare, but who is a shorter person, I have not had a problem with the lighter dash boards on cars Ive sat in. best regards, Jerry
I recently sold my Nero F430 Spider which had couio dash and wheel. Personally, I love the look, but honestly like many others, I was in a bit of denial about the glare. To answer your question, the single best thing you can do is keep a good set of sunglasses in the car. Using them will aid your vision and reduce the likelihood of visual distractions caused by the glare.
Sounds like there are alot of differing opinions on the glare issue. The car in the linked thread is mine, and it has a couio dashboard. All I can tell you is that I've been driving it for a couple of weeks now and can honestly say that the glare is not a problem. Now, couio is a darker shade than beige (Ferrari does not offer a tan color, only couio and beige). You can see the difference in the colors in my car. The daytona straps, piping and stitching are beige. Even if you find that you have a glare problem, a good pair of polarized sunglasses should eliminate it. So I wouldn't worry about this issue. You'll love the car no matter what. Post pictures soon. Barry
depends whether it is Biege or Cuiuo, if Beige you will likely need the sunglasses when its raining but not to worry as you can easily get the instrumenet pod recovered in black
Hi Everyone! Thanks for all the input! Just took delivery this past Thursday. The dealer somewhat screwed up my order....but it's all good.....I'm just glad it's finally here after waiting for 3+ years. I got the beige dash but black steering wheel as oppose to color matching beige that I had requested. Now when I look at it...it's not bad since the steering column is black and it blends in perfectly. In addition....I wanted the rear parking sensors and rear leather shelf....but that didn't happen. Not having the rear leather is no big deal....parking sensors would have been nice! Took it out for a ride Friday afternoon, and the glare is not as bad as the pictures of that 355 people are referring to. What I thought was "tan" is beige as someone else had pointed out to me, and the leather is dark enough to not cause too much glare. Glare is just inevitable. I have a black on black cls55, and even with that...I get some reflection at times. Therefore...I'm all good. Thanks again everyone, and happy holidays! I'll post some pics soon.
I have had many bright dash colors in the past and will continue to order them. Just wear Polarized sunglass and the glare will go away, plus it's good for your eyes
Dealer screwed up???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know how you can screw up a Ferrari order! I mean really! I did part time outside sales for a BMW dealer and its not that difficult to order a car. Ask the client what they want and check a box, real rocket science. Rant over. Robert
