Is this the car you ran this past weekend?

What is the individual race history of this car? Tracks it ran and tracks it took the checkered w/results?

    Hey Rob,

This isn't the car I raced w/NASA. I did race this car w/Franco's group at MSRH in December, and I think it was a bit faster, in the 1:37.xx range, but we ran the track in the opposite direction.

This car is a 2008 and looks much nicer and fresher than the 2007 I'm keeping. It is all black, while the '07 is silver underneath a black wrap.

A summary of the race history is on the FerrariAds page.

Mark, great looking car and sounds like a great deal for somebody.

I'm just curious, because it will be a while before I'm a real buyer, but how sensitive are the 430CH cars to setup as compared to the 360CH cars? For example, I have been told by a couple of 360CH owners that having the setup done by FOH was a competitive advantage over other cars. I have also heard the 360CH cars really benefit from having the GT wing.

However, I remember talking to a tech at Mt. Tremblant, while taking the driving school, who said the 430 cars were actually set up "softer" than the 360s. When combined with the additional torque of the 430, the softer setup made the car more compliant.

Any other thoughts on the 430CH over the 360CH?

    Thx, Dale

    Hey Dale,
I've spent lots of time testing and tweaking 430s, but very little time in 360s. My impression is that the 360s were much more nervous, and yes, very sensitive to setup.

Setup is important in the 430, but they're generally very 'compliant'. The Aero in the 430 is much more consistent and easier to manage. The 430 is really an easy car to drive. FoH does a fabulous job on the setup.

The standard 430Challenge shocks are softer than the 360s were, particularly in rebound. There were a few tracks where we ran the old 360 shock, which is now the alternate, for its stiffer rebound.

Either car will feel much better with a wing, but the 430 probably doesn't beg for it, quite as much as the 360 did.
