I'm new to Ferrari chat. I have never posted. This is all new. I grew up in the slide rule era. I have a CS I bought new over 1 year ago at San Diego Ferrari. I also have a 74 dino gts chairs and flairs. Anyway today as I was coming home on the train from LA I was checking my messages. One was from Rick Black. He left a message that the first six 430's had arrived in LA by air freight. A black one was not spoken for and wondered if I was interested. I am not. Just wondered if any one had heard this. How does Rick Black get a new one? I wonder what premium he is asking. If any info please respond.

Do not do any business with Rick Black. I am sure he has a car coming, but he will ask of course top dollar, but way more than what everybody else is asking. This is not the reason why you shouldn't do business with him. Don't work with him because he is not a strait shooter. I have not had personal experience with him, but I do know many who have and they all agree that he is the type you do not want to deal with. In addition, I heard the guy is almost broke.

Wow! Opinions are like a$$holes, Everyone's got one!

18 years of being in the car business, and he is still around selling cars...obviously his customers like him, they keep coming back!

Are we talking about Rick Black of Black on Black Motors? If so I wonder why he is calling cause he went bankrupt. It was in the paper. Also is he serious? He really is sitting on 6 brand new 430s?

Well from what I read in a few other posts, his businesses went belly up, not HIM. Declaring bankruptcy is a tactical mesure to avoid paying account payables and debts, obviously. Trump does the same.

Yes, but if you give him (or his new business) a deposit and he files for bankruptcy again, you are SOL as an unsecured creditor.

Of course, that's why people do it, it's the easy way out.

I am just curious do you honestly believe that this man is sitting on six 430s? or better yet even one? Funny how he was able to get the cars before the FACTORY store here in Marin. Very strange.

    omgjon,

Welcome to the board. I have heard of this person you speak of but don't know anything more then what's been posted on this site. I suggest you do a search and read what has been posted or add your own experiences with him.

Guys, he didn't say Black had six. He said the first six had arrived and one was available. It might not be Blacks, he may just be trying to broker it.
