The Alfa 145 or 146 Airbag ECU is a direct replacement for the 550. Part numbers 60631206 and 46538798. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/145086404-post34.html
Wow that's a really good one to know Terry ! What was it Ferrari said I think first it was 10 years and then 15 before changing? Is that correct my friend? Did you happen to get prices for the Alfa one ? cheers
Bill- Was not me, see the link. Yup, originally Ferrari said change the airbags at 10 years, then changed to 15 years, but good luck on finding a replacement. The link mentioned above is for the airbag ECU, which some owners have burned up and could not find replacements.
Valve stem part number 185328 for 575/599 is OEM suppled by Huf/Beru part number RDV001. Huf's improved generation 2 version is RDV021 with extra seal and better TPMS screw design.
Has any one found the pinch weld seal for the front inner guards on a 456, it may be generic for other locations on 550 575. item 19 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm my quest to find wiper blade refills I found this Bosch reference to 456 parts. O2 sensors Wiper blades and Ignition coils https://www.boschautoparts.com/en/auto
Good Link however the 456 (M) needs, as has been discussed, two different types the Bosch 24A ICON will fit one side but not the other as the J hook is upside down. Secondly I am endeavoring to keep the car un modified and just need the blade refills. As they don't see much action. and the most annoying part is the retaining adapter on the (RHD) drivers side snapped when I unclipped it. The Profile of the refill isnt comparable with what I have found so far, and sorry to the spare parts guys I am not spending $300 on a par of new blade assemblies.. The search continues, which is also compounded by the car Being RHD and the wiper setup is reversed. I can buy generic ones at my Auto shop but they are Profile D I need E Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's an easy fix. You cut the "J" hook off with a fine blade hack saw exactly in the center of the small rectangular hole. Clean the paint off carefully for about 1/2 inch and chamfer the edges Turn the cut off piece over and TIG braze it back together with silicon bronze brazing rod, or TIG weld it with S.S. rod filling the rectangular hole. File smooth and paint and Bob's your uncle Now you can use the Bosch Icon 24's on both sides. I've done several of these, piece of cake
Hi Dave Thanks for the suggestion and I have read the posts on the wiper issue but I am avoiding doing any mods at this point in time. however its not been discarded as the retaining clip on the Rivers side snapped in half when I removed the wiper arm... The Rubber refill profile appears to be a std Bosch profile so I will look to see if there is a another OEM blade I can cannibalize to replace just the rubber and clip
I have a 1997 456GT with a trunk weatherstrip in need of replacement. On the heels of a suggestion made elsewhere in this thread, I obtained a brand new NISSAN 848303TA0B GENUINE OEM WEATHERSTRIP on eBay for $35. Hey, I thought, if it doesn't work on my 456 I can certainly take the hit. Once it arrived I noticed immediately that the section of the Nissan item isn't the same as that of the 456GT weatherstrip. In fact, it looks quite a bit different, though the height is identical. Just for kicks, I removed the old strip and installed the Nissan one and... it works! Not only does the lid close producing a solid sound that leaves no doubt as to the fact that lid and seal make full contact, but it also passed the water hose test. I washed the car and once I was done the trunk was completely dry, with clear evidence that the water was running down around the outer edge of the strip. To summarize: the NISSAN 848303TA0B weatherstrip is a suitable replacement for the 456GT OEM trunk strip. Don't let the different section design fool you: it works.
Alternator cooling duct - sorry couldn't find part number on Eurospares. rises from floor panel behind bumper on right side (i.e. underneath brake cooling duct) is a 60mm diameter approximately 35cm long. OEM worn and my replacement shown in photo attached (this is the short smaller one - the large one is the brake duct which had split on mine) I went with a 2 ply Flexible Silicone Coated Air Ducting - Induction Duct Pipe Cold Hot Feed from Auto Silicon Hoses in the UK. That is the monovalve insert as used on nearly all 1980s Mercedes models. The monovalve or "lifting magnet" as Mercedes calls it, is available through any MB dealer for less than $100.
John. I'm reading through this thread and making mental notes of all the great info in here. I run across this today and immediately recall a thread on here started by Bradan where these oil pump shaft bearings failed on a silver Maranello and caused an entire engine rebuild. Is this a common failure on the 550s? As in... at 71,000 miles (the mileage on my car now), should I simply have these bearings replaced "just in case"?? Thanks in advance.
46538673 also for the Alfa 145 / 146 is supposed to be a direct replacement for 60631206 according to this: 46538673 CONTROL UNIT FOR AIRBAG FOR ALFA ROMEO 145 AND 146 ORIGINAL BRAND NEW!! | eBay
Nick, Brian Crall advised me a few years ago to not neglect these bearings, and that's the only warning I needed. If I were you, at your next major, I'd consider replacing them.
OK. Hope I'm good until then. 5 years are up in 2018. Nowhere near the mile limit since the last major in 2013. Was considering just having them changed now after reading that Bradan post. Scary. And just to be clear, the cross reference you posted are for parts 43 in this diagram, right? Should also make sure that 47, 44 and 46 are replaced, too?? Thanks. Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is the Idle Air valve from my 456M yes it has been discussed but I thought a picture was in order. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I need to replace the full engine lead set (both banks) on my 1999 456M GTA, Are there interchangeable parts for #155788 and #155789 available?
Just about as inexpensive to put one of John Cribb's coil on plug ignition kits in her than buy new leads. Other owners have built their own sets, though. Have not heard of a direct replacement set, but 456M owners can chime in if they have seen substitutes.
Just a small addendum for us early 456 (motronic 2.7) cars. I'm replacing the charcoal canister purge valves, which are Bosch 0 280 142 150 (later 5.2 cars are Bosch 0 280 142 300 as mentioned earlier) Ferrari part number is 130978.

FYI, here are a few part numbers for the auxiliary belts and idler pulleys. These are Dayco numbers (I prefer them because they have some proprietary/patented design features) but you can also cross reference to Gates, NAPA (usually made by Gates), and other brands. There are also "HD" versions available for some of these which promise very long/extended life but they are intended for a fleet/high mileage situation. Since these cars tend to sit for longer periods and don't normally rack up many miles I didn't list them since they are not designed for that type of duty cycle. Alternator & A/C Belt - 5060400 Water pump & PS Belt - 5050505 Idler pulleys (same for both) - 89163 For the timing belts I use the Dayco 94985 belts and the Hill Engineering bearings. These parts meet and exceed the OEM and SAE standards for durability, fit, etc.
