John- Very handy, thanks. Will have to look and see if they carry the Tyco V23134-B57-X266 that we use as a 30 amp F1 pump relay replacement.

Thanks Taz, I thought the info needed to be in a single post to make it easier for those who are buying a complete set of replacement relays.

Those high amp F1 relays don't seem to be available in the aftermarket under the Tyco reference. Perhaps BMW and other OEM's have cut a deal with Tyco to protect their marketing rights. It would be interesting to see if some of the other high amp relays like the Cole Hersey's would have the same pinout and would work.

Do either of you have similar information for the 1995 456 GT fuse panel?

    Thanks

Alex- You mean a diagram or a sheet of actual relay numbers?

Alex, this post: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/143195894-post16.html has the Bosch references for the relays and their location within the 456 GT relay panel.

There appear to be 4 different types in the 456 relay board, and 2 of those 4 are the same or nearly the same as the 550's relays; for example the fuel pump relays (Bosch 0 332 014 140) and the 2x15a relays (Bosch 0 332 015 013 for the 550, and the 456 uses the "K" version: 0 332 015 006, but it's essentially the same type)

So it wouldn't take an enterprising owner very long to construct a similar table for the 456, as you'd only have to cross two more Bosch numbers (0 332 014 113 and 0 332 204 101), and someone here on FChat has probably already done it.

Indeed those sensors will only work with Motronic 2.7 so not on the 550.
On the 456 they might work though.

The Bosch & Tyco technical data refer to these as 50a relays.

I wouldn't trust a 30a relay for this circuit, but neither would I have put this circuit on the main fuse/relay board. It really ought to be moved off the board.

John Cribb did some research on an alternative thermostat; Stant 13648 (sometimes marketed as a 180F stat, it’s stamped 174F, but check for the 174F stamp as the boxes may vary). Thanks John....

First pic is John’s measurements of the Stant 13648 vs the Ferrari 183758. (I added the black line under his blue to show where I measure the bypass 100% closed.)

Second Pic is the Ferrari 226484 (a European 87C variety), Stant 13648 in a 456 housing and the original 183758 (79C), in that order.

Anyway, as John’s data shows and I can confirm from use, the $18 Stant works fine, in fact, I’d say better than the originals, especially in warmer climes.

    Regards....Mark

That's it.... just check that it's stamped 174F when it arrives... John got one from Amazon that was stamped 190F, which is basically the European spec...

The 550/575 luggage compartment weather seal is over $500 from the dealer. A great substitute is from a 2014 Nissan Altima trunk weather seal. The installation type and the installed height as well as the appearance is identical to the 550/575. It is too long, but you can cut the length to fit, butting the two ends together at the latch. The Nissan Part # is 84830-3TA0C and it lists for $53. It can be found online for around $37.

    Hi,
I have had a blue manual 456 with tan interior for about a year. I am considering changing the spark plug leads but can only find them at about £850 a set. I believe they are Bosch and wonder if anyone has the Bosch parts number? The Ferrari part numbers are 155788 and 155789.

    Ferrari P/N: 103877

Generically it's a single row, deep groove ball bearing, double sealed, with shaft size of 15mm x OD of 35mm x thickness of 14mm. It's mounted into the rear of the crank and serves as the front support pilot for the main clutch shaft.

GS thanks, however there's not much money to be saved by sourcing these from an SKF distributor. Ricambi has decent prices on them.

Daniel does show the flywheel screws to be on "call" status currently, which is always a bit scary....
