...I'm just curious about that: does anyone know if there exist any modified Ferrari 456 which had engine work done by Michelotto in Italy? And what performance data did these cars have...? Can't find anything...

That's about what I saw...a 456 with a 5.7 V12 engine in the front...must have been the 575 machine. But I can't believe this was done by Michelotto...

About two years ago a Dutch fellow offered to me a green Ferrari 456 with a Maranello 550 engine. He claimed that Ferrari made 8 of them. Michelotto was not mentioned to have carried out this conversion.

How different are the 456 and 550 engines? Could you turn a 456 engine into a 550 engine?

I think the only difference should be the exhaust system, cats etc AND the ECU. I heard of some 456 owners having the 550 ECU. But entering the 500 hp class should be really difficult indeed...

    Hi guys,

if i remeber well ,the factory build up in 1996 a small series of 456GT called "Maranello" with some uprated suspension and engine work..
    for some ex-factory racedriver's.

The Michelotto factory however do only some tuning on the F40,F50 and a few Enzo's...
beside the normal racing cars they cared for .

    regards
    ivo
