Can anybody tell me where to get the best deal on replacement front break pads for my 456 (non track - road use only) So far PAGID seems to be the only alternative and they are very very expensive!

Not sure Porterfield are sold in the UK, but that is what I used when it came time to replace the Pagid yellows in my 456GT.

Low dusting, rotor friendly and less squeal.

    Porterfield R4-S 1994 FERRARI 456GT AP561 $ 139.95 AP345 $ 89.95

"R4-S High Performance Street and Autocross
For high performance and heavy-duty street conditions. Perfect for prolonged everyday street use while also being capable of tolerating the most severe street use without any fade. Rotor friendly of course. The R4-S friction level will give you an impressive increase in stopping ability with very minimum pedal effort. R4-S compound has the absolute lowest noise and dust levels, far below OEM equipment or any other high performance brake material. Good for autocrossing, some drivers schools, solo events, and rally’s. The R4-S compound is available for virtually any vehicle sold in the US. We also offer the R4-S in pad sizes for competition type calipers that are used under street driven conditions"

I stand corrected 'Brake pads' it is ............... sorry i suffer from a form of word blindness - dyslexia.

The Pads - checked out the RS -4 's on the portifield site and they were coming in at $179.95 for the ap561's not $139? What are the Hawk pads like? What is the difference between the Blue, Black and HP plus?

I have the TEVES (ATE) callipers not the Brembo do the above (RS-4's) still apply?

I'm not sure what was in my car, but the first Porterfield's did not fit my car. They matched my pads to the pads which go on the 512TR. Send them a picture of the brake pad to be sure you get waht you need. That is what I did and they knew immediately what to give me. No issues, they worked great for me.

I sure would like to know which Porterfield's fit the 456. I am on the cusp of dumping Porterfield from my inventory because I'm tired of their poor technical support and inaccurate Ferrari fitment.

I really let down a 456 customer recently when Porterfield shipped me *twice* the incorrect pads for his car. The inbound freight charges were horrendous, the shipping speed was too slow, and in the end, the pads didn't fit. The AP561 pads most certainly did not fit his car.

If I don't get some satisfaction from them soon, you'll be seeing one hell of a fire-sale at Ricambi --- I want my shelf space back for something that I have confidence in, and that my customers can actually use.
