The horn on my 456 GT just stopped working properly. I checked under the hood and the horn's engine/blower is working fine but it is no longer delivering a "blast" through the trumpet. Any suggestions ? Thanks, Higgins23

Had a similar problem on mine. Turned out to be poor contact in the horn pushbutton on the steering wheel. Took it out (without managing to break the stupid plastic lugs that hold it in place [hows that for quality on a 170K car!! ]) and disconnected the wire from the contact , which is so long it can foul the contact when you put it back in, cleaned it up and Voila! working again. The other problem is sshyte on the actual horn connection. If you give it a good clean and a good dose of WD40 this also helps. Silly question, but have you checked that there is 12 V there at the horn with the switch made? If there is then problem at horn or bad earth.
    good luck

My 456 had the rubber air hoses come off the trumpets behind the front spoiler. I glued them back on and now I have sound again!

    Good Luck!

Appreciate the advice. This sounds very much like the same issue I have. I have looked at the other potential causes and all are working fine.

One question, how did you access the trumpets to glue the hoses back on ?

    Thanks.

I pulled the undertrays off. They needed to have all of the debris cleaned out anyway.

Can you do this without putting the car up on a lift ?
