    Hello everyone,

Does the door on the 456 GTA lock while driving?

I came across a sketchy looking guy while stopping at a red light. I tried to lock the door by pressing down on the center toggle of the door handle. I would hear the lock make a sound and then it would unlock (center toggle pops up) immediately.

Is this normal or is there an issue with a sensor? Thanks for any help.

Does it do the same thing with the engine off?
Normally this is a sign that your doors aren’t closed properly, so perhaps a door latch sensor issue. Were the windows down slightly? The WSM also says that the doors won't lock in this case.

Seems like the issue is that the passenger side lock is stuck in the unlocked position.

When I try locking the door from the driver side, it will unlock immediately. The passenger side tries to lock but the toggle doesnt move down (stays in unlocked position). I had to manually press down the passenger door lock and then the doors will stay locked.

So the actuator sounds like it's trying to lock....

Maybe something needs lubricating.... or the actuator (internal) gearbox has failed. There is a switch inside the actuator. If you command "lock" and the Doorlock ECU doesn't sense that the internal switch in the actuator has moved to the correct position, it rejects the lock command.
I guess you could do some wiring checks on the actuator to confirm this.

Sometimes something blocks the movement of the actuator plunger (e.g. when the door isn't latched properly, the actuator can't move into the right position).
