    I have a 1997 456 GTA and my local mechanic is having major issues identifying the transmission / electronic system- is anyone familiar with the 456 Transmission and have suggestions where to take? I am located in Monterey California, all the local shops are having a hard time with this and or do not have the proper equipment to assess and repair. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Tony at T&R in San Francisco owns a Leonardo diagnostic computer that should work on your 456. Most mechanics won't invest the +$50K for this type of diagnostic equipment. I think he's the only one in the Bay Area.
