Indeed I think the key lock thing is just for calibration as the system has no other way of knowing where it is. I guess the holding 4 seconds is to enable the calibration sequence?

OK guys I had a conversation with my service person a few days ago, I must say that my window ECU is still sitting on my kitchen countertop, I will be switching ECUs from left to right this weekend.
I was notified to first check the microswitches attached to the door mechanism. I was told to try to clean them using Alcohol in a spray bottle, as they can sometimes become inoperable because of dirt buildup on them, yes even inside of the door.

Will try this approach first then do the ECU switch and get back to you after.

Maybe. I just thought it would make sense to calibrate in the UP position. Then the automatic 2cm drop could be computed from here using the sensor in the motor.

I probably shouldn't be using the word "automatic" as Ferrari seems to use that for the extended (long) push of the window switches (which makes the windows go all the way down without your finger on the switch).

    reviving old thread.
so I have on the driver's side the old window microswitch problem on the striker (where the door catches on the frame). The electronics work since when the door is opened if I push the microswitch the window goes up a centimeter or so, and when I let it go the window goes down. but when the door is closed, say idling, or driving, or even sometimes just while sitting with the engine off the window will go down that centimeter, as if the door were opened. So its a mechanical adjustment thing, I presume. Before I reinvent the wheel or open pandora's box is there a simple easy fix for this? some kind of simple adjustment? moving the striker out a millimeter?
    thanks,
    jay
