    Hi everyone,

One of my headlight fails to raise when I turn on the beam. Before I get to the Ferrari dealer and spend a few bucks.. anything I could easily check by myself ( I am a complete novice )

    Thanks

PS : if anyone had such failure repaired, could you tell me what cost I should expect ?

My mechanic told me to be careful to close the hood on center. He said that iff the hood is closed off center it can hit the headlight cover and damage the mechanism.

Don't know about cost to repair.

    Best of luck,

    Ron

    PS - What year?

Sounds like it may need a new relay sensor for that headlight. I had a a similiar problem. Bring it to a good independent and it will cost less to fix.

It is a 1995. Perfect condition, and a great drive apart from that..

if i were i don't have to go to the ferrari dealership. i will get a reliable bodyshop to do it. it is quite easy. my friend got his 456 1995 fixed really quik cost him less than a 100 but at the ferrari dealership could cost him 500 or something like that

I had the same problem with headlight and spoiler both failing to operate. The dealer told me that a new motor was needed for each. I decided to wait. Strangely, both have worked properly ever since the dealer looked at them! I was told that a circuit board in the headlight motor can corrode which usually causes the problem. I was quoted $500 for each motor and about the same for labor to install

check the owners manual for a possible relay or fuse issue. I had a similar problem with the A/C controller and it was a $8 dollar Bosch relay in the floor board on the passenger side.

    Good luck

It was actually the motor that had to be changed..

Cost JPY35000 ( $300 ) for the the headlight and JPY55000 ( $450 ) for the rear spoiler to have them replaced at the official Ferrari dealer in Tokyo ( surprisingly quite reasonable )
