456 manual clutch adjustment or clutch replacement?

Brian, the plastic elbow on mine was cracked, so I bought 2, changed mine, and a short time later I sent the spare to a 550 owner in Canada who discovered his was cracked too. I suppose two failures doesn't equate to a trend, but..... Too, the hose felt mushy on mine and looked to be deteriorating from the inside out, so I changed it as well.
