I'm looking at a 37,000 mile '95 456 manual. I don't know the name of the color (bein' a noob an' all), but in a darkly lit garage it appeared to be blue/gray exterior with a tan interior, and both appeared to be in good shape. I'm planning to drive it soon, then do a thorough PPI. The asking price is $60k.

The question is determining the value. I understand all about my willingness to pay, but being an engineer by inclination as well as by profession, I like to research these things. Where have you guys looked for pricing guidance?

    Thanks in advance!

If its had the timing belt changed recently and it passes the PPI, that sounds like a good price.

I've seen similar ones asking $70-80 although I have not been following the 456 market very closely lately. Sounds like a good price if it checks out. More so if the belt has been done.

I agree the price seems fairly cheap. The miles are a bit high, but on a ten plus year old car that's a good thing, assuming it's been serviced. Most sellers have built a phsychological buffer into their asking price. They'll likely take $60,000. Frankly, I can't imagine how the car can get any cheaper, even with miles. A late 60s two plus two starts at 65 and goes up to about 100. The 365s, 400s and 412s are unloved for their under-stated bodies and will never approach the 456 or the earlier cars, and they're 25 to 40. I think as these things (456s) age, they'll be regarded as the best looking of the 2 plus twos and be priced just below a C4--high 80s or low 90s in today's dollars. It will just take another five to ten years to get there.
