Pretty clean car. Appears to be missing the alternator ducting which was the case when I bought mine. 3 alternators later…expensive lesson. Daytona seats just add so much more to the car IMHO.
Not necessarily...this happens all the time when different shops report mileage around the same time. Easy enough to cross reference all the data points/service history for a interested party. This happened with me with an old Mercedes and I had clear documentation it was because the state is low. Merck, what does the alternator ducting look like?
Also, all of those piddly minor oil leaks too, about 40 miles post its last major in late 2023, sounds about right if you do not drive the car or pay attention to it. What a headache. But hey it had a recent major…
All correctable which is a good thing. The rear 3/4 glass trim looks absolutely great and that cannot be fixed or replaced. Good candidate to buy, restore and just keep into the sunset if you prefer the auto.
I really liked the last one in Grigio Ingrid and that last price was SO low. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2000-ferrari-456m-gta-5/ Glad the black one you guys are referencing is across the country from us. Will be interested to see where it hammers.
Following up on my first post, I ended up buying the blue/tan 2003 456M GT six speed. Very stoked. They are doing some follow up work, and car should arrive later in the next couple weeks. Thanks to all for their comments and insights.
To answer some questions, I am in the Maryland DC area and that’s where the car is headed. Yes, I bought the one at Walt Grace. One owner. Timing belt done three months ago along with a bunch of other work in preparation for sale. Got a great deal I felt at $135k.
After my MBA I lived in Georgetown for a summer and then another 2.5-ish years across the street from the Silver Spring Metro on the redline. Loved the 4th of July in the District and my wife and I were young and had a lot of great summers out at Dewey and Rehobeth. Just a great area and an awesome car and place to enjoy it!
@yudkib have you gotten your car delivered yet? Any other updates on the predelivery work getting done? Looking forward to learning about that one and your time with it. I hope to get to the mileage yours has seen someday
Totally missed the notification on this. Carlo at Bobileff has been great with progress stuff. He knew it was my first fcar so gave me the full monte with updates despite being a pretty long ways financially from their average offering. Was nice of him to do so. It’s all set in the dye and paint shop and garage, it was scheduled for pickup in San Diego tomorrow but I’m not sure they finished up with the carpeting extraction yet. I’m not sure you saw but they did an AC compressor replacement for me and learned some stuff for the community benefit along the way. Next winters project is get the suspension actuators rebuilt and handle any other punch list stuff like boots/hoses. After that I’ll have some decisions to make on interior leatherwork. At the moment, I’ve got an OEM car cover, a car seat for the kiddo, driving gloves on order, and a fighter’s chance of having my garage clean enough to keep it here and move the RX8 to a storage unit instead of vice versa. Registration appointment Thursday and insurance in progress. Just waiting on a new tender and locks for the garage door, and for the car to show up of course. Hopefully end of next week. Too bad my wife fractured her pelvis and is in a walker. I’ll have to wring it out without her. Such a shame.
I really can’t store any more cars….im also not selling anything in the stable…. that being said…. what am I missing on this black resale on BaT? I get it the guy that bought it did work on the car but the last pro seller Wob is a killer seller and the last sale seemed strong. Is it possible the car brings a higher number this time around given where the last few 456 sales have been at? Seems like a tough one from a sellers economics perspective https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2000-ferrari-456m-gt-6/#comments-anchor
Surprised this hasnt gotten more discussion. I know bids should push this into mid 60s territory eventually, but been a quiet dialog from a good seller. A few things needing repair/replaced, but otherwiae looks like a good chasis https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2000-ferrari-456m-gta-8/
That pro seller Wob’s milkshakes bring all the boys to the yard! Guy knows what he is doing for sure. Over at BaT @911R also has it wired tight as a seller.
Great looking car. Cool wheels and the contrasting red/black interior is quite pleasing to the eye Maybe waiting til last min to bid? I think it’ll ultimately hit the 80’s if not higher….
